Baltic, I was down at Kao Takieb close to Bluewave yesterday afternoon and a young chap got stung. The restaurant staff were great, pouring soda water and vinegar over the afflicted area and then giving him some plant to rub in afterwards. He seemed OK after 30 mins or so, but was in quite a bit of...

Good to see somebody else understands about saunas, too. Do you have them in Estonia as well? I actually wouldn't be surprised, close relatives of ours that you are. As I mentioned earlier, there's a chance for real Finnish sauna here in Hua Hin as well. Terve, oletko tosiaan Suomesta? :o close rel...

most of the phones are plug in here so you wouldnt need your plaster or insulation tape That's really fine, however I have seen hotels where local PABX is using (!) PULSE dial??? (!) :guns: You hear it easily by tik-tik-tik sound when dialling. However it is not so bad to be a local McGyver type (i...

At this tiem of year - the rainy season, although we don't get that much in HH - the seas are heavier than at other times of the year and the jellyfish get swept in closer to shore.generally too far out to sea to bother bathers. Again, local advice is your best bet. Thanks, definitely I will ask ab...

HH dosn't get as much rain as Phuket, but around OCT time, you can expect some, particularly mid afternoon. It's not clear from your post whether you're coming in Oct, or over Dec/Jan. The weather in the latter will be cooler and much less chance of rain. I'm an Estonian and of course English is no...

If you're going to stay at the aforementioned resort, why on earth are you worried about whether there are any umbrellas etc? You're coming to a hot country, so shade is advisable most of the time. Of course the hotel will have them. The reason of my stupid  question is that I'm not intending...

It depends where you are. There are sunbeds, tables and umbrellas all the way from the Hilton to the main beach entrance, then again scatterings of them past the Sofitel and right along to the Marriott. If you do not eat or drink I think it's approx 20 baht for the bed but I can't be sure about tha...
