Good points Jaime. Even if the market stops rising or goes down, if you have a place you can still go and enjoy it. My own rule is buy a home/property to enjoy it. If you wait long enough it will appreciate and even if its a long wait you can still get enjoyment out of it. I have some good friends w...

I'm not sure you can buy land and sit on it, you may have to show some business activity and file tax return. Who can say how much land will appreciate in 15 years. If people knew this they would be very very rich. NEVER put it in a Thai's name, not even your wife. Family can have enormous influence...

Then why didn't you say so in the first place instead of mouthing off, moralizing and labelling others. You're no better than the rest of us but we don't lay our trip on everybody else. You can also put a filter on the site so your kids can't get in. But you have to be sober to figure out how to do ...

I will be away for a while so won't be able to add any new accounts. Guess, I thought you were vehemently against discussions of this nature? I seem to recall you being the primary advocate of the new board to keep the more salacious content away from the public. Keep him out, he won't add anything...

In September I sent two registered mails via Thai Post. One from Pattaya to Isle of Man, the other from HH to Jersey, both contained important papers. Happily, each arrived within the time the post office said they would. FYI, I tried to use their courier service to Jersey but Thai Post said they di...

best, the walk from the skytrain to the minivan station is under 5 minutes. 5-6 mins max if there are lots of people and walking is slow. Its less than 500metres. Airport to VM depends on how you go. You can take bus #2 from the arrivals level and it goes directly to VM, cost is about 100baht. I don...

I took the minivan 2 weeks ago, no problems. Leaving BKK take the Skytrain to Victory Monument station and exit keeping to the left. You will go along a very long above-ground walkway that will bring you down in a market-type area of shops and food stalls. Go to the left between the shops and you wi...

Motocy, Mountain bike or car?
As expats what do you recommend for transport? I don't really want to buy a car expense for a few months a year but tuktuks can be pricey and inconvenient. I've never ridden a moto, but as a passenger I've damn near shit myself a couple of times. I'll be right near Wat Kao Noi, do you think a mounta...

Re: Estate Agents in Hua Hin
Advice stick to the established Estate Agents and not the new flyby nights.

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't thought of that.
