Re: Birds of Thailand

^^ We occasionally see them here, but not as often as in years gone by. I remember trying to catch one that came in the house. It climbed all over and in and out of the furniture. Hopefully the nests will be OK. The wood swallows have at least one hatchling. Also there's a bulbul nest (haven't been ...

Re: Speed Cameras

Today I received a further four speeding tickets for the same section of Phetkasem Road where there is a recent 80 kph limit south of Hua Hin. If I was in the UK I probably would have lost my driving license by now - is there anything similar here in Thailand where they tot up the tickets? What is ...

Re: Birds of Thailand

The wood swallow nest is on the north side of its pole, so shaded all day, mostly. The dove, though, is on its pole's south face and gets the full force of the sun, except this afternoon and yesterday afternoon when it's been cloudy/raining.

What's wrong with trees? There're plenty around.

Ashy Wood Swallows

They seem to prefer technology to nature.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Sodium? It's bad enough finding lithium, where will they ever find enough sodium? /sarc Do some research!! Sodium is 1000 times more abundant than lithium, potentially reducing supply chains and lowering battery costs, Tarascon says. Other advantages of sodium-ion batteries include high power, fast...

Even though it's expected to be inundated:

"Bangkok (would) still be the government capital, but move the business."

Sounds like a good plan.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Is there not a good chance that if/when the world doesn't need oil anymore, the lithium producers will become all-powerful, and put stupid prices on lithium? We've seen the oil giants control prices for years. Will it not be human nature to see similar controls put on the mining of lithium? There a...

Re: TV series worth watching/downloading

Dark Matter I've just started the second of 3 seasons (13 episodes each) of this excellent (IMO) sci-fi show. Note the date as another sci-fi series of the same name has recently started on Apple TV+. Six people wake up on a spaceship in the farthest corner of space with their memories wiped off. H...

Wonder why only 2 fixed dates for registration at Hua Hin, but any normal working day at Takiab.
