Interesting that the constitional court bought its verdict forward, but that the appeal by PAD against the court order for them to leave the airport wasnt due to be heard for 2 week or so. I am sure there are good reasons for it, but I do wonder whether has been the occasional double standard at wor...

problem with the train is that for the last 2 days it hasnt got past Butterworth because of severe flooding in Hat Yai. According to the timetable i have seen it is 33 hours. Other problem (if that isnt enough) is that it appears heavily booked, If you land at KL at 12pm on a thursday or a sunday , ...

i am supposed to fly back in on Friday. Be interesting to see if it is cancelled or diverted to Chiang Mai or Phuket and then bussed down /up. Big downside is that we may as well close any property related threads, businesses etc. This has just killed what was left of it stone dead for the time bein...

if you saw the BOE quarterly report this morning and the news conference that followed it, then you would see that the short term future for Sterling isnt the best. Basically, the BOE are looking at an inflation rate of less than 1%, and possibly even negative next year. Economic growth outlook was ...

Where do people buy baby food ?
I have a 9 month old daughter. When we were over in Germany for a couple of months we found in the supermarkets a very wide range of baby food. Our daughter loved the fish, broccoli and pasta. She also liked the chicken, corn and potato. And as for the Spaghetti, mozaralla, and tomato.... There were...

Form C2 from the embassy website details everything you need. But you do need to have a certified translation of your birth certificate. If you are not married, then, and this is not obvious from the form, your girlfriend needs to sign the form - not you. http://www.britishembassy.gov.uk/servlet/Fro...

Do the Police actually issue letters confirming residency ? 2 years ago when we first went down to the police station they directed us the imm. office (at the time in the same building). Every time (ok, 3 times now - once a year) at imm. my girlfriend has to fill in the form saying when i arrived an...

I wonder if anyone else has had one of these recently, and is it only people going along for a proof of residence letter. can HH check up on me ? and if i do go an...

Should have asked for a photocopy, but it was a booklet with a glossy cover. It basically said that anyone returning to thailand had to report within 24 hours. The paper stapled to the back of the passport is the 'receipt of notification' from the form my girlfriend filled in saying i was staying th...

24 hour thing alive and well ! Went to imm. office today to get a letter saying i live here (do it every year for various reasons). 1 year non imm 'O' visa. No problem, and then she attaches a slip to the inside back page of the passport (opposite the picture) saying i must report within 24 hours of...
