Since Petrol is more expensive than Diesel over here, you would probably never see a petrol van. re. something else you wrote, i have always been in a full van. It may leave with a few empty seats, but will have arranged to pick up people on the way. never got past cha-am with a free seat in the van...

Chelsea, If they were using Diesel, then your calcs might be right. But most of them use LPG, which is why they normally stop at same places every trip. Have a look at the meter next time they pay. Two weeks ago, it was about 300 baht.... I dont know how far that would take him or how full the tank ...

used the spray on Victorian slates in London. Came with a 10 year guarantee that the slates would not fall off - and they were very large pricy slates. Upstairs, it made the winters warmer and the summers cooler. Besides making the place nicer to live, it also reduced electricity costs. Given the he...

With Toyota, if i paid the full price in cash then i could put it in my name. If i went for 50% finance then it would have to be in the girlfriends name unless i had a work permit. But no guarantee etc required even though she doesnt have a job. I guess the rule changes depending on the company / ga...

Have to say that the breakfast pack was a lot better than i was expecting. 3 good rashers, 2 sausages and a healthy chunk of black pudding (which you dont get enough of elsewhere imho) Damn lucky that that was the day i ran out of tea and marmite ! The normal price for that was very reasonable and I...

holding a drink could be interesting as well. let alone just walking.... just how much discomfort would people put up with for a potential 2 hour crossing. added on edit. just looked at the specs and it cruises at 37 knots (tops is 41 knots). impressive - but not sure what sea states it can handle.

the advantage of PG pyramid tea bags over liptons, is that you dont need to wait 5 minutes before getting a cuppa ! and its more suited to drinking from a mug.

The shop also has PG tips decaf, but never tried them. how do they get the caffeine out ?

I have read somewhere that somewhere in car insurance policies is a clause that the insurance you get when you buy a car is not effective without a valid driving license. It may have even said that it had to be a thai driving license. Which, would mean (at best) after 1 year of being here, that you ...

just been there and had a bottle of wine. If it wants to be a wine bar type environment, which the armchairs lend themselves to, then it needs to either can the band, or at least turn the volume down.

IMHO, in 10-20 years, thailand is going to have a severe hearing aid problem.

the later you leave it, the quieter it gets ! i arrived an hour after it opened and there were 10 in front. But, when i was served (no 99), there were only 2 after me, and there was still nearly an hour left. Interesting for the future.

Certified Translator Required

To register my daughter at the UK embassy in BKK, they need a certified translation of her birth certificate.

Does anyone know such a translator in HH ?

Many Thanks

Nigel

Ok, its not quite as good as it used to be at old Don Muang where there was a little office and drinks etc to wait in before being led throu...
