Re: TM6 entry form/Thailand Digital Arrival Card
Was out of the country for 10 days and flew back in this week. had the pdf on my phone. Women at immigration asked me if I had it and I said yes. I presume she could see it on her screen as I wasn't asked to show her my pdf on my phone. Time taken was the same as it has been for the last couple of y...

Re: Thailand tourism situation
It is unlikely that casual "border hoppers" from Malaysia, who may cross for very short periods without formal immigration processes, are included in the official tourist arrival statistics. Tourist arrivals typically refer to those who officially enter the country with a recorded purpose...

Re: Traffic jams on Rama II Road blamed for Hua Hin's decline
Just gone up on the airport bus. Lots of roadworks from samut songkran up, so plenty of use of the frontage road. Not the quickest trip, but also appeared to be less traffic than usual. What was noticeable, or is it only me that hasn't seen them before ?, were large hanging green baskets down the si...

Re: TM6 entry form/Thailand Digital Arrival Card
I am not sure it is a good idea for your wife to enter the country on a UK passport. She will then be given an exit date in her passport (30 days ?). Whilst it will probably sort itself out that could cause headaches in immigration in the future as she would technically be an overstay. And registere...

Re: Rail Travel From Hua Hin Thread
It is a pity that we can't upvote posts. The descriptions and details of your rail trips are some of the best things I have ever read on here - and that is 20 years. So much useful information.

Re: Skype to be discontinued, alternatives?
Mytello has excellent call quality, but you do have to pay for a call to mytello (how much depends on your mobile provider) as well as the mytello cost to the person you are calling. It can add up....

Re: Hua Hin airport due for upgrade
And, the old unlengthened runway was good enough for flights to KL, Singapore, HK and elsewhere. Not sure where else flights are needed to (unless the runway is a km longer to allow flights to the middle east).

Re: Hua Hin airport due for upgrade
I remember talk of a new airport west of the bypass 18+ years ago. I suspect the price of land has gone up so much that unless they already have control of it, a new airport has little chance of a go ahead. And... The new railway goes into town. Original plan was west of town, near the bypass. Which...

Re: Secure lock up storage
Looking for about 10-16 sq.m of storage for 6 months to a year. Could be a room, a lock up, unused shop etc.
Soi 88 / 94 / Pala U preferred. But obviously, beggars can't be choosers !
Any ideas ?

Buy a Thai SIM card with.a decent data package. Never had problems streaming using the SIM card, or following markets all round the world. Use your phone as a hot spot and the laptop will be fine. Very cheap and no stress.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
Up at the main post office near the airport yesterday. As usual it was empty, no.queue.and it only took a couple of minutes to post envelopes to the UK and Europe. However, opposite the entrance outside they have installed 5 or 6 charging points.. These are not where the post trucks/lorries stop. J...

Re: City Water Bills
Hi,
Is there any update on this ? I would be surprised if it is more than a 6-12 hour a day suspension in different areas as that won't affect people with tanks. Doing a mass turn off for more than a day or 2 could cause problems for tourists which would be a no-no in HH.

Re: Dates when no alcohol sold in Hua Hin
Anyone desperate on the 17th can now get a drink at the 5 major airports. "The National Committee on Alcohol Beverage Policy decided on Thursday (a day back in July this year) to allow all airports under Airports of Thailand Plc (AoT) to sell alcoholic drinks on Asarnha Bucha, Visakha Bucha, Ma...
