At home on a Thai TV chain.
Have you always been such a bore, or did you take classes ? I don't think I have ever read a positive, useful post by you on any forum.

Mini Digger Hire

Hi, I may need to excavate about 90 cubic metres of earth. Roughly 10 metres by 6 meters by 1.5m deep. The removed soil would stay on site, so would not need to be removed. I am trying to put together a plan/budget for this. How much would a mini digger plus operator cost, and how long would it norm...

Re: Yingluck gets 10-year visa from UK

Now that the Junta knows she has a visa for the UK, if she actually does, they can now formally start the process for extraditing her. Although I doubt that would get very far in the UK. You mean using the same process and effort as for the red bull son ? Or will they put more effort into this one ?

Re: Yingluck gets 10-year visa from UK

It is just a standard multiple entry 10 year visitor visa. No requirement to spend a minimum no of days in the UK, but a max of 6 months per year. My Thai wife has one. Took 3 days to get from BKK. I guess Yingluck would have applied for hers from outside Thailand :-) I appreciate this is going awa...

Re: Govt crackdown on Airbnb, declares bookings illegal

The main ruling applies to short term rentals, regardless of whether it is BNB or someone else.

Whilst only condos have been mentioned so far, I wonder if this also applies to houses. If it does apply to houses, this could be the way to close down party houses, which would be a good result.

Bees Nest/swarm in the garden

Whilst out today a very large swarm of bees has gathered in one of the trees in the garden. I presume they are still looking for an alternative site, or may decide to build a nest where they are. I understand this is a 24 hour decision. Does anyone in Hua hin collect bees for honey ? If the queen wa...

Re: Recent travel experience buying silk gifts, online check-in and bag locks.

That's the TSA. Most luggage now has TSA compliant locks. If the locks aren't TSA compliant, they just bust them open anyway. That happened to me a few years ago in LA, and they also bust the head of my driver - which I didnt discover until I got to a golf course. The golf bag (inside a golf travel ...

Re: Hua Hin Bluport Mall news, events and updates

It is has been an incredibly busy 3-4 days, except for one place.... Bluport ! For example, today at least one floor of the bluport car park was closed (I left at 2pm) and many other floors were very very quiet. By comparison , Market Village at 2pm had 'full' signs on at least 2 floors and the rest...

Re: Electrical Problems after Storms

Hi Nereus, Thanks for the reply. I understand the practicalities re. load balancing, which is why some houses are more affected than others depending on which ones are lived in all the time, and run air-cons all day long etc etc. I understand the other requirements, but what do you mean by 'you woul...

you can't connect to all three phases as then you will have a 3-phase supply which is not suitable for your house.
What changes in the house would I need to make to be able to connect to all 3 phases ? Outside, I would think a new electricity meter - but inside ?

Re: New highway planned from Hua Hin to bypass?

The map is in the land office. I took a photo of it 5 weeks ago. It is larger than the version above and shows soi 112 and further south. Capture.JPG It is not a bypass replacement. The idea is similar to the proposed inner ring road that used to be in dotted lines on the tourist maps 12-15 years ag...

Re: Electrical Problems after Storms

Nereus (or anyone else who understands this sort of thing), I have read your posts on how single phase and 3 phase works. Outside on the street, we have 4 cables in parallel. As i understand it, the top one is earth, and the other 3 are phases 1,2 and 3. Each house is connected to the earth and one ...

Re: Postal Delivery in Hua Hin

We are going away for a few weeks, but I am expecting EMS stuff to arrive while we are away. What happens then ? Can we get someone else to take the card from the letter box and go to the post office to pick it up ? Or do we have to fill in a form first ? With someone like Kerry, who don't seem to h...
