Re: Soi 94 resurfacing work

The sign warning about the work went up yesterday but no sign of any activity yet. Would guess next week at the earliest unless the powers that be want to make a dent into the weekends busy time.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Not long back from Amsterdam where I drove my first PHEV, a Ford Kuga which I was impressed by. I had been in my son in laws BMW X3 EV and was also impressed by that bit the Ford would have been much kinder on the wallet. I will not be rushing to ditch the Nissan Terra though as it still owes me too...

Re: Hello From The Uk

You are in the best forum for honest advice. Ask away (I see the transport thread) and you will get predominantly good advice. On the occasions when it is not so sound someone usually will respond. Big Boy is very reliable and you can trust his recommendations. Enjoy your stay once you get here.

Re: Soi 94 resurfacing work

Used the Soi today and no signs of any work starting. Part of me says minor repairs are better as it naturally slows the traffic down. If they do repair it then I hope they do something with the junction of Charoen Phattana as any increase in traffic speed would result in more prangs there.

Re: Starbucks MV

The coffee at Milkland is okay. Starbucks is useful if you are too early for MV opening. I don't think the coffee is too bad but acknowledge it is not the best. At least it is consistent. I went to the clock tower one today (was able to get parked which is unusual) and was told that MV branch will o...

Re: Starbucks MV

I asked at the Stsrbucks Thailand website and apparently it will reopen in August for those who may be interested. Plenty of time to check out some no doubt cheaper establishments.

Re: Starbucks MV

Certainly well overdue, the air con was past due for a good clean. Although overpriced compared to other places the quality is consistent (opinions of taste will no doubt vary). Hopefully all that profit is being converted into upgraded comfort. When it eventually is finished

Re: Starbucks MV

I thought it was well known that MV stood for Market Village HuaHin when used in this forum.

Starbucks MV

Had a couple of weeks a way only to return and find that the MV Starbucks appears to be undergoing a refurbishment. Does anyone know when it is likely to reopen. I know there are alternatives both the other Starbucks or plenty of other coffee shops, just interested to know offhand if anyone is aware...

Re: Buying online from Lazada

I have bought quite a lot of various different items using Lazada recently and have not had many problems. The now infamous “packed by seller” type of statement has occurred to stifle cancellation and is annoying but avoiding any seller without any reviews or just a mix of letters rather than a prop...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

My own view is that two threads is a good idea but not any more. We have a lot of people on the forum who are not able to n Thailand but can offer good input. Yes, there are the pro and anti lobbies but also a good amount of fence sitters like myself. Saw a few ads for e-scooters or PCX trikes latel...

Phuket news not getting local attention

Saw this in the Sun so it has to be true. Seems either missing or in the depths of the Bangkok Post.

Perhaps not the type of news they want to broadcast.

Re: Different Fuel Grades - How to Choose

Shell V power diesel is noticeably better in my car but I fill up with it once a month due to the price. The once a month change is better than not doing it and it only means taking the fifty percent price hit less frequently.

Re: Things That Wind Me Up Driving In Thailand

The tourists are the bigger hazard and perhaps it is partly due to the side of the road they use at home. Even the crazy Thai youths have grown up in a keep to the left environment. Foreigners from countries where they drive on the right will naturally react differently to locals. May be part of the...

Re: 2-Step verification/authentication (2FA)

In response to PeteC I am fortunately not on that area. I normally trade between Malaysia and China and use a Malaysian SIM as I get unfettered internet in China using that SIM for some reason. Still causes issues with 2FA which a VPN helps with but not always. You may have an IP in the country you ...
