I think you said
The last time England beat Germany 5-1
- I must be going a bit deaf. Can you please say it a bit louder?

KD,

Sorry, maybe glory was the wrong word - maybe dream is more appropriate.

As I said, Lets crow while we can - we don't get that many opportunities.

KD, For a first warm up, it was brilliant. Apart from one moment of Hungarian brilliance, there was no threat to the England goal. Most similar England games in the past have ended up 0-0 or 1-0 As for Walcott, what were you expecting in 30 minutes of a debut match? Let the rest of the world think h...

Mongo, Good question - a dilema that I currently share with you. No family wants you out of easy reach, so you have to concentrate on the positives: * Thailand isn't that far away these days - 12 hours by air. It could take that long to reach the remote areas of Scotland. * Cheap holidays in the sun...

Pagey, You've summed up what I said earlier very nicely ie the ones that do the airport run are usually old and knackered so the journey to Hua Hin takes about 4 hours the cars at the roadside in Hua Hin which are cheaper with a bit of negotiation and modern and faster so only take about 2 hours a l...

We always use a Taxi from Hua Hin when we come to Thailand. We always use the same guy - just let him know what flight we're arriving on, and he's always been there. It actually saves a few baht on what you other 'Charlie Cheap' guys are paying, and does away with the need to barter after a long gru...

waterboy,

I think the service you're talking about is still at the drawing board stage. Have a read of this thread: http://www.huahinafterdark.com/forum/vi ... php?t=2490

Certainly, I saw no such service when I was there a couple of weeks ago.

I'm very pleased to see that you all appear to be bringing this matter to some kind of satisfactory conclusion. Just one word of warning - there's been a lot of talk of removing the competition/turning it into a fun event. I agree you have to enjoy the evening, but it is also essential that the even...

It really saddens me to read these posts (and the post in the other recent threads). At the moment, I'm only a regular visitor to Hua Hin, but hoping to settle within 2 years. I have played pool in some of the bars where they put out a predominantly Thai team, and I've made some good Thai aquaintanc...

raphoe, I flew LHR - BKK via Abu Dabi last year. Not the best place to stop, but OK. Its got all of the usual things to buy, and nothing to do while you wait. We flew with Ethihad - as you say, very cheap, and as with most Middle East airlines the service was very good. The best thing was that the w...
