Re: Hua Hin hospital special medical clinic

Well there’s a lot of Thais who don’t want/cant afford to pay even B400 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Of course, but this thread is about the SMC, where as Farangs we pay 400฿ anyway, and Thais (even those on the 30฿ scheme) pay 300฿. I don't really want to drag this on, but even those on the ...

Re: Hua Hin hospital special medical clinic

It cost my son 400฿ to see the specialist at his clinic. Subsequent MRI was covered by Social Security. Operation would have normally cost 200,000฿ at HHH. I'm not sure the 30฿ scheme would have covered that - he actually paid <15,000฿ with Social Security. Whatever it would cost via the hospital, t...

Re: Hua Hin hospital special medical clinic

I'm not so sure you are right with that Pete. Many of the established medics here in Hua Hin (all hospitals) have their own after hours clinics in rented shop houses. They usually charge a lot less than the hospitals, and are a way of seeing the doc, in half decent conditions without having the mass...

Re: Hua Hin hospital special medical clinic

Yes, it's been a huge game of musical chairs, making temporary accommodation whilst facilities are modernised, and as you can probably imagine, it was chaos in the beginning, with poor facilities being replaced by very temporary facilities. However, there have been very noticeable improvements in th...

Yes, I'm always happy when those girls turn up on the ward. Very hard working.

Re: Hua Hin Speed Cameras

I'm pretty good at spotting them. On the stretch of road in question, apart from the cameras at the university junction (I don't think they are speed cameras), there are not any cameras that I can see.

berlinmichael has been caught 6 times in a matter of weeks there. I am intrigued.

Re: One dead as airplane makes an emergency landing in Suvarnabhumi

I often get up and walk about when on a plane, it relieves the aches and pains of not being able to afford business class! Yes, we all have to take nature breaks, and I agree its good to stretch your legs occasionally. From memory, the safety advice does state 'whilst seated.' Maybe standing up in ...

Belgian Tourist Brutally Beaten in Hua Hin

A Belgian retiree was gravely injured in an unprovoked attack in Hua Hin over a week ago, according to officials and witnesses. The victim, identified as 63-year-old Jan from Riemst, in the province of Limburg, remains in a coma following the assault, Belgian news site VRT NWS reported. https://www....

Re: Hua Hin hospital special medical clinic

The description you gave sounds very similar to student nurses on detachment from Uni. They normally work very hard, and don't get one Baht for their efforts. My Granddaughter used to get assigned to some distant hospitals e.g. Samut Sakhon from Bangkok, and they had to make their own travel arrange...

Re: One dead as airplane makes an emergency landing in Suvarnabhumi

OK, if not naughty kids, why do they ignore the advice from the airline, which has been given for their own comfort/safety? What collective description would you give? These are probably the same kind of people who come to Thailand, hire a motorcycle with no valid licence and refuse to wear a helmet.

Re: Hua Hin hospital special medical clinic

My Granddaughter is a fully trained nurse, and finished 2nd in her year. Merit.JPG She has also passed all of the exams external to the Uni, essential to become a fully qualified nurse. During my time in both Petcharat and BH, the staff became very uneasy whenever a family member had to leave me alo...

Re: Hua Hin hospital special medical clinic

My eldest granddaughter was a nurse at BH, but left for HHH because she could make more money, for less, and more sociable hours. Yes, the basic pay is better at BH, but there are other perks working at HHH that make it preferable.

Re: One dead as airplane makes an emergency landing in Suvarnabhumi

I don't see the problem in remaining buckled up. It doesn't cause any discomfort, does it? Some people are little more than naughty kids, and have to ignore good advice because they can. And then there are the complete idiots that unbuckle the belt, and even stand up, as soon as the aircraft touches...

Hua Hin Speed Cameras

What is also interesting is that this is a different camera location than before. My first two tickets had photos of the front of my car taken from a height above the car. Today's photos indicate that the camera is close to the ground as the angle is aiming high into the front of my car. Also it is...
