Re: The Car Challenge

STEVE G, You are of course correct, and I chose the RO 80 because of the post you mentioned, there are loads of rotary engine vehicles. The clutch was a strange arrangement it had sort of 2 clutch devices, and depressing the gear stick disengaged the clutch. Regarding the cryptic clue, all the engin...

Re: The Car Challenge

Here's a car first introduced in the 60s, it was exceptionally aerodynamic and technologically advanced for its time and also expensive. I actually owned on of these in the early 70s, purchased at a bargain price with only 35K on the clock, What is it?

Looks like a 1930's Jaguar SS to me, being a huge Jag fan I would have loved to have owned one, but sadly never have.

Re: The Car Challenge

The motorcycle photo was taken in Thailand as evidenced by the Thai license plate, and the associated article. I must admit I didn't read the article, I based my guess of the location on the architecture in the background, it doesn't look very Thai to me. I'm still pretty sure it's a James MT125 ho...

Re: The Car Challenge

Challenge 1 Unless I'm very much mistaken and going senile in my old age, the car is a Swallow Doretti from the 50's, They're a British built car with aluminium bodywork by swallow coachworks, (they also made rather grand baby prams) and triumph TR engine and rolling chassis parts. I used to own on...

Re: The Car Challenge

Challenge 2
I'm around 95% sure the bike is a James ML125 from the late 30's early 40's, the ML indicates a military model which would fit in well with it being (apparently) in India.
