A new hazard?

Walking past the Hilton last night two motorcycles passed me at speed. Bad enough but that's not the real hazard. The passenger of the second bike turned as he went past and fired what at first I thought was a pump action shotgun at me. It was very realistic with a flash from the barrel when he pull...

Yesterday, Had Sai Noi looks pretty much the same as it did at the same time last year. The resort you mention (actually a group of private villas) never really got started and it now looks to me like it will never be built in the form that it was originally advertised. Restaurants on the lake? Some...

BUMP Within the last week or so the advertising sign announcing this proposed development has been removed. Read into that what you will but give that there was an intial flurry of activity, demolishing the existing buildings and starting basic groundworks and since then zilch, I suspect that there ...

If the above is true, I am surprised that HHAD continues to run advertisments for them. Perhaps admin would like to comment.

Sitting in a nice sunny room on a comfy chair reading a book, doing the Bangkok post crossword or doing work on my laptop for a few hours a week is certainly not hard work, I didn't suggest that was the reason that people were unwilling to give their time. There are of course a myriad of reasons, b...

I have followed this thread with interest from its inception. It is clear that Dawn has a terrific commitment to her self appointed task. But it is also clear that the HHDRC is bound to fail sooner or later if it continues to operate in its current format. Any enterprise, be it a business or charity...

Thanks for that Buksida. That was the option that Lox tried to steer me to when I inquired before, but apart from the cost I really need reasonable speed in both directions. I was hoping things might have improved, but I guess I will just have to wait till the PTT catch up with the demand in the area.

I am genuinely baffled by your comment, I thought it was a hell hole; so dark and filthy. Have you been in Pranburi market?

ADSL in Khao Tao

I know that the topic of ADSL connections ahas been aired before but has anyone experience of acquiring ADSL in the Khao Tao area. I fed in the phone number of a neighbour into the Lox web site but it claimed that ADSL was not available. As this is an expanding village I am hoping that the situation...

I would add that the beaches off of Hua Hin and Had Sai Yai have an extremely gentle slope and are very safe for children. Had Sai Noi has a steeper slope but is still safe unless your children are very young.

Guess is being a little facetious. There should be no problwm with Jellyfish at that time of the year. The water is not the crystal clear stuff but only to be expected in a closed bay. Neither myself nor my children have ever had any health problems. The references to animal excreta are the horses w...
