Re: Charitable donations for Cancer victim - Can anyone help?
Thought I would update those who took an interest in this topic. It has now been 17 months and the lady is doing fine. Her condition has not improved but nor has it deteriorated. She takes a herbal combination and raw garlic daily, which seems to be stopping the lung cancer from spreading. She wishe...

Re: Proof of funds for visa extension - what formats?
To answer my previous question and update the forum, the 3 month seasoning rule DOES apply to any cash that forms part of the pension+cash 800,000 baht requirement. i.e. If you have a pension that gives you 600,000 baht per year and you add 200,000 baht cash to make it up to 800k, that 200k has to b...

Re: Proof of funds for visa extension - what formats?
Just as a matter of interest, what is the best way to go about asking advice from an immigration official in Hua-Hin. Whenever I've been there, I always get intercepted by the staff who sit outside helping with forms and etc. I'm not sure if they are actually immigration officials or not, but I wou...

Re: Proof of funds for visa extension - what formats?
Can someone clarify the seasoning rule? I understand it if you have 800k in the bank but I have 600k pension and 200k in the bank. My understanding (from another place) is there is no seasoning requirement for the 200k.

Re: Pricing for Cicada Market?
Hello all I'm looking to rent a stall or little open area for a night at cicada market, does anybody know the pricing, or have a number I can call to find out? Thanks in advance :D One night? Doubtful. A couple of years ago it was 300 per night for a non-food stand inside and 150 outside. Food is 3...

Re: Charitable donations for Cancer victim - Can anyone help
When we arrived in Thailand, my wife's name was on a Tabien Bahn which was registered in Isaan, so she wasn't eligible to use the scheme at Hua Hin. It was when she had her name moved to a Tabien Bahn in Hua Hin that her eligibility started. I would therefore assume the key is in moving the lady's ...

Re: Charitable donations for Cancer victim - Can anyone help
Does she have a TV to keep her company? Yes. I have borrowed a small TV which is old but has an acceptable picture. One complication is that she had an epidural for pain relief, while fluid was drained from her lungs. After a week, she says her spine is still 'blocked'. Pregnant mothers should be w...

Re: Charitable donations for Cancer victim - Can anyone help
I wonder why this admirable cause has not gotten more attention from forum members and has dropped out of sight. Hopefully this means that people have moved into the world of PM's and support is still being offered?? Bump it up here anyway for anyone who missed it. Five members have been kind enoug...

Re: Charitable donations for Cancer victim - Can anyone help
Zeo, online transfer screen is requesting account name, please confirm. Sorry. I'm used to just the account number and bank being required. I have sent you the details by pm. I too will donate 5000 baht. Can I meet you sometime tomorrow or Friday in central Hua Hin to give this to you in cash. Many...

Re: 30 thb Health Scheme - What if you move to another area?
Just one more comment about this. Even if the mother has to stay in their village, which I think unlikely, the daughter will need financial support while she takes time off work. So donations on the other thread will not go to waste.

Re: 30 thb Health Scheme - What if you move to another area?
I would suggest a trip down to Hua Hin Hospital to ask them face to face. There seems to be an awful lot of hearsay about this scheme. When we moved here my wife was told by several people that she wouldn't be eligible for the scheme because she had a farang husband. She went to the hospital, asked...

Re: Charitable donations for Cancer victim - Can anyone help
Just out of curiosity; have you posted your request only in this forum, or have you canvassed other forums as well and if so, what was the reaction? Actually I had been trying to handle this on my own and never gave support from elsewhere a thought, until this morning. I have asked at a local Churc...

Re: 30 thb Health Scheme - What if you move to another area?
A Thai lady told me she was challenged after going to hospital here and responded strongly to the administrator by saying something like 'I live in the same country, with the same government, why should I have to pay if I move somewhere else?' They treated her free. It sounds in this instance that ...

Re: Charitable donations for Cancer victim - Can anyone help
I suggest you open a bank account to receive donations and post the details on here providing there is no objection. If you do that I will make a donation of Baht 5,000 and take the risk this is not a scam. Thank you so much for being the first prepared to take the risk. I have already put up 37,00...
