Re: Thailand changes visa rules to boost economy urgently

Thinking likewise, 6 months per year in Thailand will suit me when all this tax bullshit kicks in, and annual visa renewals here become a massive headache with the additional paperwork. The new nomad visa also looks way easier to get/renew than a marriage visa! A lot of countries in Southern and Ea...

Re: Thailand changes visa rules to boost economy urgently

^I'm pretty sure that they're talking about 180 days a year but I'm starting to think that my retirement is going to be half in Thailand and half in Europe so if it's tax free and easy to get, it might be a useful solution.

Re: The Recommended Movies Thread

My favourite film of all time is Viv Stanshall's Sir Henry at Rawlinson End.
I'd never heard of this movie before but after reading about it on here I watched it on YouTube the other night and it is intriguing, it's either madness or genius, I'll have to watch it again to decide which!

Did he explain how it works, because that is well in excess of the Thai income tax threshold? tax.png It's covered by Gift Tax https://www.expattaxthailand.com/gift-tax-2024/#:~:text=Gift%20tax%20rates%20in%20Thailand,to%20amounts%20exceeding%20this%20threshold. Re: One dead as airplane makes an emergency landing in Suvarnabhumi

I've always worn the seat belt loosely buckled for over twenty years after hearing of an acident when an autopilot was accidentally disconnected and a passenger was killed when the aircraft violently pitched down. I forget the airline but I think it was an MD11 aircraft.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

I've read articles about the technology behind self driving cars and apparently one of the main problems is the unpredictability of human road users. If the roads were just full of self driving cars it would be much easier because they would all act logically.

^Yes, self driving at that level is impressive.
I know that some companies are interested in the idea of car subscription services with cars like that. Basically instead of owning a car, you would order one when you need it and it turns up at your door.
