I'm pretty good at spotting them.....
To show how these cameras can be hidden, here is one in Luxembourg in an election poster:

Re: One dead as airplane makes an emergency landing in Suvarnabhumi

I've always worn the seat belt loosely buckled for over twenty years after hearing of an acident when an autopilot was accidentally disconnected and a passenger was killed when the aircraft violently pitched down. I forget the airline but I think it was an MD11 aircraft.

The average SE Asian taxi driver doesn't convince me that humans have a monopoly on safe driving.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

I've read articles about the technology behind self driving cars and apparently one of the main problems is the unpredictability of human road users. If the roads were just full of self driving cars it would be much easier because they would all act logically.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

^Yes, self driving at that level is impressive.
I know that some companies are interested in the idea of car subscription services with cars like that. Basically instead of owning a car, you would order one when you need it and it turns up at your door.

Yes, I don't normally use the New York Post but I found the story elsewhere and the Post had better pictures.

I think those two old boys would have been happier with this '69 Plymouth Roadrunner that I came across in Luxembourg yesterday:

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

^In my opinion, self driving cars only make sense when the technology has got to the point where they're capable of doing it without human intervention. When they're basically a driverless taxi that could be used by a non-driver, a disabled person or is capable of making journeys by itself to pick s...

^Some of those monitors in that lake are huge. I was once cycling on the small road behind it when we had to stop to allow one to cross the path. I remember saying to my friend that it was the first time I'd had to stop cycling for a dinosaur!

The temple at Ban Khun Samut Chin, about 10km out of Bangkok, illustrates the problem:

Re: Climate change could force Thailand to move its capital

I've been reading stories like this ever since I first started coming to Thailand over 40 years ago. Hasn't happened yet. Obviously it's a gradual process and what is happening is that industries on the periphery of the city are experiencing increasing amounts of time every year when flooding cause...
