Re: Ao Manao/Wing 5 Golf

Played the course yesterday again. In better shape than 2 years ago but not much better. I still don't putt on the greens as they are bumpy and slow, however they are better than usual. Par 3 tee boxes hard to find some grass. I use it as a practice course only. If you aren't a serious golfer then i...

Re: Which Golf courses are recommended to play on the way from Hua Hin to Kanchanaburi?

Just played Dragon Hills. Exceptional value at 550 baht. Also, if you want to play a more expensive course then I would recommend Grand Prix out of Kanchanaburi. One of the best courses I've played in all of Thailand.

Steam Room in House

Has anyone put in their own steam room. I thinking of converting a spare bathroom into a steam room. Wanting to know where I could find/buy a steam generator around here? Thanks.

Re: Looking for nice resort/hotel at Prachuap beach

Those places are in Ao Manao, Khlong Wan and as far away as Huay Yang (Nishaville). If you are looking for something of that caliber and in Prachuap then perhaps the Sun Beach Guest House. It is a resort hotel but for some legal reasons I think they call it a guest house. Right across from the beach...

Grand Prix & Blue Star - Kanchanaburi

Just back from golfing these two. Tried Nichigo too but wouldn't let me out as they said they had too many Koreans and they didn't like golfing with Falangs - Lovely. So played Grand Prix twice. Highly recommend Grand Prix. Rivals anything around and reasonably priced (by Hua Hin Standards). Blue St...

Re: Kanchanaburi border (Phu Nam Ron) for visa runs

Got back last night. Tip: If you are looking for the Border Crossing on a Nav system, Google Maps, etc. type in Ban Phu Nam Ron. Don't forget the Ban in the beginning. Couldn't drive my vehicle over but no need. The little shop on the left drove us over to the Burma side in their little van. Lots of...

Royal Hua Hin GC Dec 2015 Review

Just finished playing rhhgc today. Heard it wasn't in great shape but wanted to give it a go for nostalgia reasons. Overall at 2000 baht green fee it is way over priced. Worth a 1000 baht at best. Suggest you go to Thanarat instead for similar conditions but way better value. For that kind of money ...

Re: Sea Pine Proshop Phone Number

Thanks. I had an old one off the internet and it didn't work. I golfed there earlier this year and should have kept the scorecard.

Sea Pine Proshop Phone Number

Does anyone have an up-to-date phone number for Sea Pines Proshop? I've tried the phone number listed but it says it is no longer listed. I don't live in Hua Hin so not convenient to just drive there. Thanks.

Kanchanaburi Border - Visa Run with own Vehicle

Just looking for any updated information. I have a Double Entry Visa and want to use the second entry. Any issues or are things back to normal? Also, I have my own vehicle so any issues using it to drive over into the Burmese side to do what ever I need to do? I read some of the other threads and it...

Re: Ao Manao/Wing 5 Golf

Back for the winter and played the course two days ago. Worse conditions than last year. Worth 100 baht at best right now. Too bad it is so poorly looked after as the layout isn't that bad.

Money Exchanger (Gold Shop) in Hua Hin

Is there some place in Hua Hin that I can get a better rate for cash than at the Banks? I used to get a better rate in Pattaya that way when I was wintering there. Just wondering around these parts now that I'm wintering in this area. Thanks in advance.

Re: Falangs on the roads in and around

Never lived in Bangkok. Don't like the big cities. Wouldn't even attempt to drive there. I just see so many falangs out and about thinking they have the same rights on the road that they do back in their home country. They will end up hurt or worse over here.
