Re: Building regulations and water pipe

How much are they now selling for one rai? I think 1 rai is a good size. As for the size of the house, I would say less than 200 sqm. We like things simple. How much it would approximately cost if we build it ourselves?1000 B per sqm? Is it correct? Is the price include land?

Well, I can feel that I am really going to settle down in Hua Hin, so many nice people giving me helpful advice and so kindheartedly- though I never met any of you personally! It must be a wonderful place with so many wonderful people. To explain my situation a bit, I've been a hobby builder since 1...

Re: Building regulations and water pipe

We used to go very often to a 5 star hotel in Sanya, Hainan. The whole ground floor area with restaurant, reception, disco etc. has no air condition. The temperature was always very comfortable as far as I can recall whether it was morning, afternoon or evening. Also other hotel complex in Bali were...

Re: Building regulations and water pipe

Thanks a lot! Very useful information. We are now in the conception phase. We would try to adapt the building using local materials and method. Our idea is also to build a ecological house which if possible can be off the grid. High ceiling, good insulted roof and thick stone wall, situated in an el...

Building regulations and water pipe

Hallo! Anyone can tell me something about the building regulations in Thailand? What are the
restrictions? How about sewage system and water pipe (DIN?)? What kind of system and standard are applied in Thailand? Is lime being used for walls?

Thanks in advance!

Re: shipping personal property

I will be facing similar problem. Some leftover 6 years ago should be sorted and picked up from Melbourne. Any suggestions? Those are all personal belongings e.g. 3 boxes of Lego, albums, trophies etc. How about import tax for used stuff? Our plan is to rent something first and build something later...

Re: When was your first visit to Hua Hin?

Not yet. Been to many other part of Thailand but not Hua Hin. Didn't know it until a friend of mine mentioned
it as retirement destination.

Wonder if it's very different to other part of Thailand: PP Island, Krabi, Pattaya, Bangkok and Phuket are the places we've been to.
