Thanks for that BB.
Thinking some more about it there's no reason why I can't take all the docs. I've got and attempt to extend.
IF that fails, then my only Plan B is to leave, come back and start again using Bangkok Bank.

Re: Retirement Visa Extension and Transferwise
As TFW only seem to use three banks in Thailand (Bangkok, Kasikorn and TMB), my having an account with Siam Commercial (SCB) is causing problems as my pension always arrives in SCB via one the three “Agent Banks.” It would be difficult for me now to obtain the Credit Advice Receipts (CAR) retrospect...

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc
- - Apologies in advance for a long post, but always be prepared for anything… - - I visited Tha Yang Immi. this morning with Mrs C to try and have a chat about my Retirement Visa extension, TransferWise (TFW), etc. It’s not due until January, so just an inquiry at this stage. I spoke to the a lady ...

Re: Best Full English Breakfast In Cha Am Beach Area?
Also, just north of the Lounge Bar mentioned above on the opposite side of the (Chao Lay) road is the Aroy. They serve English (incl. a FEB) and Thai food. It also features a wall full of clocks that all chime on the hour, every hour (give or take). Well established, it opened at least six years ago...

Best Full English Breakfast In Cha Am Beach Area?
Mrs C and I made a rare visit to Cha Am Beach today and ate a FEB at the Scandy Resort a.k.a. Beachfront Hotel next to the Asia Hotel. It's located on the beach road a short distance north of the Naratip Road junction. The large option cost B310 and was ample. The only negative was the black pudding...

Re: Retirement Visa Extension and Transferwise
I went to SCB on Cha Am beach yesterday armed with the sample Credit Advice Receipt that someone previously uploaded to the Forum. Whilst the girl I spoke to was very helpful, she wasn't aware of the new requirement from Immi. After that she repeated the usual routine i.e. talk to all your colleague...

Re: Thailand Immigration: getting tough with guests (TM30 24 hour reporting)
I recall that a couple of years ago Thai Immi. announced that foreigners should carry their passports with them at all times... A couple of weeks later a u-turn occurred with Thai Immi. then saying something along the lines of: "of course we don't expect foreigners to carry their original passp...

Re: GBP vs THB
I also use TransferWise to transfer my pension. It appears that several extra bits of info will be required to complete the audit trail going forward... My U.K. bank (Nationwide) shows TransferWise transactions as "TransferWise London". On receipt of the email from TransferWise confirming ...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand
Interesting graphic, but spoiled by the quote that various Met offices are predicting that there's "a 50 per cent chance that 2019 will be the second hottest on record."

Re: Kids not taught about horrific history
Of course history is important - for me especially that which has occurred in my lifetime. Being aware of e.g. The Vietnam war, the Irish "Troubles," 9/11 (official and alternative views) and the U.K. military intervention the Middle East for the past 15 years has certainly made me more cy...

Re: Hua Hin dual-track rail project to go ahead
The BP today published updates on various railway construction projects around LOS. HH is mentioned: - Two more high-speed projects -- the Bangkok-Hua Hin section and the Bangkok-Chiang Mai route -- are unlikely to win the cabinet’s approval by next month’s election, experts say. The Bangkok-Hua Hin...

Re: Some Bangkok Embassies to stop Certification of Income Letters
Yes Pete - I agree... If you can show regular monthly pension income IMHO this is (obviously) a regular transaction. The payments will only stop coming when the recipient dies (or should the pension provider goes bust)... If the IO sees B65k (non-pension cash) being t/f into Thailand monthly from ab...

Re: Some Bangkok Embassies to stop Certification of Income Letters
laphanphon, I retired here 5 years ago using the (entirely legal) combination of approx. 50/50 bank balance + pension. Now, due to to the latest developments re: extensions (and not forgetting that the GBP/THB exchange rate is at 22 year low!) I find myself with a potentially serious problem. It is ...
