Re: Thailand's foreigner crackdown: stricter screening, monthly reports, working raids
If the authorities could be a little clearer, they should clarify the use of the term "foreign expat" because of the 4400 mentioned above it is most likely that 4399 are from one of the neighboring countries. Maybe also in the same vein do an investigation of the visa system here and make ...

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

Thanks in advance hahuahin I believe not. I didn't need at...

Re: What is going rate for Health Insurance?
Make sure you sign up before you are 60. I myself are with Pacific cross and it jumped up considerable in price when 60. Thankfully never have needed to make a claim but have friends who have made claims both after medical treatment in Thailand and abroad and never have had issues getting the cost c...

Re: Krungsri Online (KOL) will be discontinued on October 1, 2025
I called Krungsri today and got the answer that I also afer 1. October still could transfer money from one Thai bank account and withdraw from an Krungsri ATM so for me the only difference will be that I cannot check my account online. Great back to the good old times with a Atm card and bank book :...

Re: Krungsri Online (KOL) will be discontinued on October 1, 2025
Thanks to the moderator for making my post a little more comprehensive. I wonder if it still would be possible to transfer money to a Krungsri account from another Thai bank without any app and then withdraw money from an Krungsri ATM with Visa debit? Which is actually the only thing I use Krungsri ...

New hotel law raises safety concerns
The Thai Hotels Association (THA) has raised the alarm for property owners over a new draft law for hotels, warning it could infringe on the rights of residents and compromise tourist safety, which is already a blemish for Thailand. The draft of the Hotel and Overnight Accommodation Act, proposed by...

Re: Cambodia to take up long-running border dispute with Thailand at UN's top court
We need one more (war) Its already written and as it seems sometimes, we are there already “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy.” – 2 Timothy 3:1...

Re: Snubbed middle-income retirees look beyond Thailand to SE Asia
I think you are exaggerating Thailand's popularity among Tom, Dick and Harry a bit now. I myself have family in Europe and the US, some wealthy, others middle class, well-educated and well-travelled and after almost three decades here for me they still don't understand what is so "superb" ...

Re: Snubbed middle-income retirees look beyond Thailand to SE Asia
IMO, it is unrealistic to set up requirements for a retirement visa in a country where the local estimated average income is 21,000 US dollars and even that amount, I think is a bit exaggerated from what I can see around me  – https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/field/real-gdp-per-capita/ H...

Re: Effect of enforcing Thai motoring legislation
I can't remember the last time I saw a police officer out enforcing the law here :| . Only when there are accidents. However, we were on a trip to Phuket last year, and even in local areas far from the tourist areas, you didn't drive far before you saw a police officer. hahuahin All that I can say ...

Checked with Bangkok Hua Hin hospital but not in stock was answer. I have not checked San Paulo or Hua Hin Hospital but below in Bangkok and Pattaya. Re: Booster Vaccines - Covid 19
The current outbreak was reported to be mild but fast-spreading, not sure if that's still the info. On that basis I'm not interested in a jab, but my real interest is in knowing how many actually had more than the initial two jabs years ago? I held off until I could get two Astrozenicas and then di...

Re: Effect of enforcing Thai motoring legislation
I don’t travel to Bangkok very often, but whenever I do, the utilisation of helmets is a high%, which I assume is due to better enforcement, so it can work and with higher penalties, the message should get round pretty quick if the BIB get out there and do what they’re paid to do!! I can't remember...
