Re: Transferring visa to new passport
Hua Hin Immigration transferred one year visa and multi-entry permit from my old to new passport a couple of months ago, for a few hundred baht. Took about 30 minutes.

Tesco has a small selection of boxers. But if you are European XL or more your size might not be in stock.

Re: Phuket to Hua Hin by bus..has anybody done it and how reliable
I travelled on the day bus from Hua Hin to Phuket last year and Phuket to Hua Hin. Coach arrived 2 hours late at Hua Hin bus station due to heavy Bangkok traffic. The luxury coach was full of young kids not in their assigned seats. The bus staff weren't inclined to sort it out. Non stop movies playe...

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin
I travelled on the coach yesterday. Bought return tickets from the Hua Hin bus station. To Bangkok I chose my seat number at time of purchase. From Suvarnnabhumi to Hua Hin the clerks at the counter at exit door 8 assigned my seat number. I'm unsure if it is possible to change it once assigned. When...

Re: Can an expat get a credit card in thailand?
I have never had to tie up money to secure a Thai credit card, and I have three of them. Probably due to having had a work permit for a few years.

Re: Immigration asking for more info from foreigners
Hua Hin Immigration had me on 24 hour reporting some 10-12 years ago. 10 overseas trips a year had me inconveniently rushing to Hua Hin after each arrival for Immigration to staple into my passport a piece of paper that nobody cared about or looked at. Also, the 24 hour report was purely arbitrary: ...

Re: best condo!!
You're correct, from now until October, Hua Hin condos are almost deserted except for weekends when Bangkok owners arrive. But even then, you can have the pool to yourself.

Condominium ownership transfer and inheritance
It's been 7 years since my lawyer told me that a non-Thai cannot inherit property in Thailand. He said Since the foreign beneficiary is not a resident (having Resident Permit) of Thailand, in the instance he inherited your Condominium in Hua Hin and wish to retain the condominium unit, the acquisiti...

Re: Container Home
If I'm not mistaken, containers are being adapted at a building site just before the Cha'am turnoff from Petchkasem Road. The site is close to the sheep and camel attractions on the left side of the road, a minute or two before the turn to Cha'am.

Re: Taking a car to Malaysia and neighbouring countries
There is an undated point by point guide to driving from Thailand into Malaysia here: http://andthreetogo.com/travel-tips/thai-to-malaysia-by-car/ As an aside, in the last week we have seen cars from Qinghai, Szechuan and Yunnan in Hua Hin and as far south as Sam Roi Yot. So coming and going to Chin...

Re: Oil Slick puts Hua Hin Beach at it's dirtiest ever ?
yes, it is filthy. yesterday swathes of the beach from the Chiva Som southwards was black. I arrived home with discoloured feet. The sea too was green. Algae is also growing rapidly in pools close to boundary walls.

Re: buying a TV
Is there digital TV in Hua Hin asks an imminent house guest. I have no idea. But I am thinking of replacing a 6 year old Panasonic TV. I get 50 channels through the condo. The quality of the service is often poor (don't know who the provider is). Sound is often out of sync on a few channels, picture...

Berjaya Air flew 3 times weekly from Kuala Lumpur to Hua Hin in 2012/13. It had special rates for golfers and their kit. The service ended in 2013.
