Why should youtube remove a video deemed offensive by one country? By that logic, we could censor videos of people eating bacon, stripping, drinking beer, zapping mosquitoes... they could all be offensive to someone. I think censorship is a dangerous path. Who decides? And how many of these farangs ...

Yes, we can agree to differ but I consider myself to have argued more fluently because I didn't resort to saying you were speaking out of an orifice other than your mouth... :D Yes, you were more eloquent, although a bit nasal. Just an old soldiers viewpoint Holly. I went through a war wher...

The figure was 290,000,000, the population of the USA, and that's who I said you were mocking by saying the real estate is now more valuable than it was when the WTC's were standing on it. In addition, you say New York Americans are a special breed and are "more European" than the rest of...

Remember the site itself had already been targeted. The "cost" to the US is also difficult to assess because if you take the site of the world trade centre itself, it's worth more now in real estate terms. The cost to the US and about 20 other countries, including Thailand, was about 2,90...
Not sure why you're mentioning the cost of 9/11? I can't believe you're buying into "the US did it really" scenario that worryingly, some 13% of the muslim population in the UK believe?
I wasn't necessarily saying they did it, I was sa...

If I were your missus, I would run like the wind! Only joking, I hate needles! Seriously though, I haven't had any jabs and the people I know who live here haven't either. I think the main health risks (STDs excepted) probably come from drinking dodgy water and if you take the usual precauti...

Fair point Steve G! The reality of course is that an operation of this size places tremendous strain on the Police and costs an absolute fortune, if you only want to consider cost. Okay, Forest Gate appears to have been an error, although as the Police don't have enough time to continue enquires be...

For all those that see a subtle and devious Machiavellian conspiracy theory in this, please be mindful of the fact that the British Government is presently under the leadership of John Prescott! (PM Blair being on holiday.) If history in the future proves this to be the case, I think Mr. Prescott s...

Well, I have to admit (at risk of being bombarded with evil replies) that I'm sceptical... it seems a convenient time to foil a major plot - divert attention from Lebanon, pat on the back for unpopular Blair etc. I was in New York during the great anthrax scare (and you wouldn't believe the items on...
