Big Boy wrote: Sat Oct 26, 2019 8:23 am Try the Embassy first. A simple enquiry via e-mail isn't going to cost much, and could save you a lot of hassle.
Thanks BigBoy - I tried phoning them during the week. NO ONE answers.

Will look for a contact form.

Thanks

Re: How to obtain a marriage certificate

There should be two issued copies of the document - one is yours and one is hers.. The third lives in the amphur where you registered.. Thanks, but as far as I remember, we were only given 1 copy. This was in 2015. So, if I went (alone, or with a translator) to the amphur- do you think they would g...

nanyang wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2019 11:39 pm Did you register your marriage in the UK?
If you did, they should be able to help.
Err, I'm not sure what this means. I never sent the marriage documents to any British agency.
Sorry, not sure what you mean.

Which agency do you mean with "
they should be able to help
"

Thanks

Re: How to obtain a marriage certificate

oh dear - then I'm stuffed. Unless I fly to Thailand, then go down to the Amphur, then back again...

I had hoped that I could get it through the Embassy.

If I DID decide to go through this stress, what would I need (paperwork, etc) to get a copy?

Re: Thai marriage woes - do I need to inform the HO (UK)

Firstly, I feel for you in a big way BB (not the large version  ). Thanks for your kind words. As I'm sure she will now have a criminal record, I don't believe there's any (legal) doubt she must return to Thailand. She pled not guilty, so there will be trial. Do they ask on the visa applicati...

Re: Do I need to inform the HO

Only if the marriage has ended, I would have thought, and that she has moved out, if she has? If not and she will carry on living with you, then no. Was she actually charged with anything, other than just being arrested on suspicion of whatever? She has been charged with assault (not sure what type...

Thai marriage woes - do I need to inform the HO (UK)

Some years of an absolute nightmare - seriously losing any normality it may have had. It came to a head last night - she struck on the head with a 3 kilo hard back book (was aiming for my face) I had already had the presence of mind to start a recording before it happened. So, she got herself arrest...

Re: Sickness - Thai wife/UK husband

blahblah, I need to mention, my experience is over 6 years old now. Please check with the Home Office - things may have changed. They will, at the very least tell you how it is, and at best might help you to achieve what you want. Big Boy, Immigration is crazy now. They look for pretty much any sma...

Just as large, or bigger, concern might be family and extended family here. Who might see her as having a windfall pot of gold that shud be shared - until it is completely gone. The pressure can be huge. If possinle a Thai will wud be beneficial too if there are any assets here. Or at least an offi...

Re: Sickness - Thai wife/UK husband

Very sorry to hear about your illness - try to stay strong. thanks very much. The answer to you question is yes, she will have to return to Thailand. In the event you pass away, she has no legitimate reason for remaining in the UK. Very harsh, I know, but that is the way it is. Again, many thanks -...

Sickness - Thai wife/UK husband

Not sure where to post this ... I am a UK national - still working. My wife is a Thai national - here in the UK on a spouse visa. Been here 17 months. We need to do the second application (for another 2.5 years) of course for her to be able to apply for a settlement visa. I have just discovered that...
