Re: Clean Hua Hin's beaches movement - Trash Hero

500kg in an hour!!!!! That's almost 10 kilos of trash per person per hour. GREAT on the part of everyone who takes part... but very sad the need is so pressing.

Re: Nescafe

John D. I think you would like a 1 person (1 cup) sized cafetiere for travelling, or just for one cup of ground coffee at home. They're great taste wise and take in no space/weight in your suitcase.

Re: British home comfort food?

That Greg Wallace bloke has a program on the BBC about how everday foods are made. About 3 or 4 weeks ago they were at a factory in Holland that makes Heinz mayonaise that gets shipped all over the place and they explained how, alrhough the labels were the same, the recipe changes for every differen...

Re: Pros and Cons of Colonization

I totally agree Danny Boy. The post before mine said driving in the UK was worse than here. That's just sooo wrong. Driving in the UK is about as pleasant (and safe) as driving gets. Driving here in Thailand. Ha. I'll let my husband drive so I can concentrate on my phone. That way I don't see the mu...

Prachuap Khiri Khan... couple of questions

I saw some advertising boards about a jet ski competition. They were in Thai, but I did see the numbers 9 & 10. Does anyone know if it's this coming weekend?

Second question. A forum member mentioned a weekend market in PKK. Is the market on Friday & Saturday evening? Or just Saturday?

I tried to book the Wing 5 hotel for last weekend. Was fully booked. I managed to get this Friday, but Saturday is also fully booked.

Re: Pros and Cons of Colonization

Oh come on. No one has ever said British drivers are without fault.... but you say it's worse. How do the RTA and deaths on the road compare between the two countries?

I so hope that's an accurate prediction.

They do make it sound though as if a 4 degree drop means get the winter woolies out.

Re: Tips for recycling and reducing plastic use in Thailand

Clarification on above post.... I dont actually know if those plaatics ARE actually recycled. All I definitely know is I am allowed to put them in my plastic recycling bin. What the council then does with them I don't know.

Re: Tips for recycling and reducing plastic use in Thailand

I buy all my toiletries just over the border in Germany and the refill bags of shower gel, washingup liquid and washing machine liquid I buy all have that symbol which means they are recyclable

Re: Tips for recycling and reducing plastic use in Thailand

For anyone who uses cat litter (or rather if their cats use it). Instead of scooping the used bits out into a plastic bag, just put it in old newspaper and kinda fold it up. Again... thats 700 odd bags less per year in our house.
