Re: Interpreter needed for tessaban visit

I once used a bar girl, who spoke good english to purhase some furniture for me. The price she got was almost 30% less that what was quoted to me despite heavy bargaining. I gave her a 10% commission that was well deserved and even got a quickie bonus on the new furniture when it was delivered ! Th...

Re: Why are so many hotels for sale?

An artificially inflated Thai Bhat could also be to blame but apparently the Central Bank of Thailand seems to cater other interests. A proper rate for the THB could be 1 US$ = say 38 THB. Prices have also dropped in Europe but the prices in Thailand are catching up with the west. People now want an...

Re: Thai Airways 'sorry' passengers forced to vacate seats for crew

Another reason why I never fly Thai Airways....took them only once years ago...the staff were rude all along starting from the ground staff. European or Middle Eastern Airlines are much more respectful with passengers which seems to be a minimum.

Re: Hua Hin security camera company

Any updates on firms that install ip security cameras for homes in the area ? TOP CCTV are still going, they will come out and give you a quote for a whole gated community. If you just want for your home you could buy a system in Home Pro. thanks a lot, as I am a utter nut in wiring etc and the cam...

Re: 10 year visas now available, can somebody tell immigration

After what happened to the "to big to fail" globan US banking player, I humbly consider that in banking, anything can happen to any bank, anywhere. The only security a consumer would have is to have it in a country (like Switzerland) where the government gives a guarantee of around €100'0...

Re: Tessaban Hua Hin, blue book to get ID card?

Yes, ours did. ok thanks for the info. I'll check out with mine if he can do so, but I recall he mentioned something like it had to go through Bangkok. That could have been to get your passport certified as original? yes something like that...from the Embassy then from the MFA in BKK. But I was try...

Re: Thailand has become new 'e-waste' and plastic dumping ground

Not only plastic bags, but the pet bottles and so much more. For the PET bottles perhaps a 50 THB depot money would encourage consumers to return the empty bottle to get their money back to the 7/11 collecting point ? As for the plastic bags, why not start to manufacture them with bio degradable com...

Re: Australian man 'stabbed in chest' in Thailand club

The Australian man was clearly misbehaving, the Israeli guy had some serious ego issues and did not appreciate the drunk Aussie fondling his girlie's buttocks...all the ingredients were mixed in Pattaya, in a hooker bar at 4am so what social etiquette or decency was left ? The Israeli definately com...

Re: International Driving License

Just be aware if you come from the EU, your IDP is not recognized in Thailand. The EU hands out IDP (that has to be presented with the national driving licence), that refers to the 1968 convention. This convention has not been ratified by Thailand, Japan and perhaps some other nations. Of course, it...
