Re: The Android Thread
I flashed several stock ROM’s on an old Samsung phone downloaded from Sammobile website; they have software from other carriers (and countries) with minor changes to Samsung’s base software. Found some small differences (like wallpapers) and maybe a small improvement on battery life, but hardly wort...

Re: The Android Thread
My mobile phone experience with Android 4 or Android 5 is that battery life was poor due to Google, in particular apps reporting your location. Part recourse is to turn off some location reports (where possible) but not completely as then phone may not function. Android 6 and above, allow much more ...

Re: Skin doctor ?
I visited Dr Niwat’s Skin clinic several weeks ago. I took a motorbike taxi from Hua Hin down Soi 112, not expecting it to be so far down Soi 112; this was before seeing the excellent location details above. The clinic had several patients waiting; however I was seen next without an appointment. I h...

Re: Which Mobile Phone?
Comparing Samsung J8 and Motorola G5S Plus on PhoneArena website: https://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/Samsung-Galaxy-J8,Motorola-Moto-G5S-Plus/phones/10795,10597 The Motorola is only one year older than the Samsung J8, but the Motorola could be considered to have better overall specs? In parti...

Re: Which Mobile Phone?
What's the latest on mobile phones of choice? Will need to replace my Lenovo in the next month or so, it has lasted 2 and a half years which apparently is pretty good for a smartphone. The device is actually ok but the battery is shot, a replacement one behaved the same leading me to believe the so...

Re: Which Mobile Phone?
Most mobile phones are too big for me; carried in my trouser front pocket pulling down on my elasticated waistband, difficult to remove/insert, possible testicular damage, etc. I decided that 135 grams weight and 5.2 inch screen were suitable maximums, but not much choice with these statistics. Plus...

Re: Som tam 5th on Lonely Planet's top 10 best dishes
Papaya salad is good, but mango salad is better – more flavour especially if the mango is sweet and sour.
Not sure why most people go for papaya.
Maybe papaya is cheaper and more available?

Re: Trouble sleeping after Japanese food
I've never eaten much Japanese food Pete but when I lived in Indonesia, I ate tofu all the time without any problems. They had another dish, Tempe, also made from soya and I loved the stuff, used to have it for lunch every day. I remember fried tempe lunches in Indonesia – served with green sambal,...

Re: Adhesive Nasal Strips...
I used adhesive nasal strips for a few months but switched to an alternative, as manufactured by Rhinomed Limited labelled "Mute - breathe more snore less". They are a silicon "nasal device" consisting of 2 connected silicone rings which insert into nostrils - opening up the air...

Re: Nescafe
Last month I bought a “phin filter” in Vietnam, I was not sure how to best use it until I saw this charming video today. How-to-Brew-Vietnamese-Coffee.wmv: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DwPGkq8SFE I followed the advice and it gives a cup of strong coffee but it’s a bit slow to filter through and ...

Re: Nescafe
I’ve just bought the “ESSENSO” instant coffee (see second photo above). It has similar description to the Starbucks instant coffee (see first photo above) i.e. the Arabica coffee is a mix of instant and microground coffee. The “ESSENSO” coffee is sold as a 2-in-1 mix, or a 3-in-1 mix, this may not s...

Re: Nescafe
I much prefer ground coffee to instant coffee, for my first cup of the day. My perception is that there are just more aromatic oils in the ground coffee, but also it’s what you get used to – I’ve got used to enjoying instant coffee (after a few days) when ground coffee was not available. I’ve bought...

Re: Skin doctor ?
Yesterday, I went to the Rajdhevee Clinic on the top floor of Market Village, on the left side looking toward the theatre, as recommended on other posts here. I was offered 2,500 Baht for the removal of 3 small moles using laser. I declined as that is a little expensive. The price dropped to 2,000 B...

Re: Testosterone replacement therapy
Last post is about 2 years old.
Any more recent advice, with an update on how to source (doctor, clinic, and best of all which pharmacy) in Hua Hin?
My preference would be a cream or patch, with injections low on the list of options.
