Re: Example of Linux's hippie roots

How does ease of use with Linux compare to Microsoft? Is it easy to learn after using Microsoft for many years and still being digitally impaired? I've noticed that a few laptops come with a version of Linux installed, is it worth buying? Linux is free, and all the software that operates on linux i...

Thai interior designer

Can anybody recommend a good Thai interior designer who can do a condo refurb in Hua Hin? When we were in Chiang Mai, we saw some fantastic interiors, would like something similar.

Re: RE: Re: Any vegetarian restaurants in Hua Hin?

At the crossroad near the day market in town where the Baht buses leave, great food to eat in or take away at 25 baht per dish. Been eating there for 15 years and always tasted great. Once found a Caterpillar in my krapow though. I always think that finding bugs and grubs in the veg is a good sign ...

I have two of them and neither work until this process is done. Every time I try I get an instant 'timeout' error.
You can set it up here: https://verified.visa.com/

Re: RE: Re: Banking in HH

not the useless BKB atm card. Not sure I understand that. My Bkk bank debit card works pretty much anywhere. Uk, Malaysia, Cambodia...... I may have jumped in without thinking there. Of course unless you've already got a Bkk bank debit card, the new ones issued are the unionpay cards which I agree ...

Re: Banking in HH

Thanks for the thread Buksida. Kasicorn looks the best, as I want a proper debit card, not the useless BKB atm card. Their exchange rates don't look too bad either. I will shop around when I hit town!

Banking in Hua Hin

When I arrive, I will need to open a bank account for my retirement visa. Which is the best bank to use, can I get a debit card instead of a passbook account, and which has the best services? Last time I used Bangkok bank, but wasnt wildly impressed.

Re: Hi everybody

Thanks for the interest Dannie. Mostly I am concerned about getting to and from Suvarnabhumi, as I will be making a few trips in and out of LOS.

Hi everybody

65 yo British male, been mostly in Hong Kong for the last 20 odd years, about to relocate to HH with my HK Chinese missus. Have lived in Thailand previously, a few years ago (BKK). Would appreciate any advice and tips.
