I take your point

Sure I take your poit about 4x4s but really you should try some of the hills round here ! the daft thing is that those people who use the really big 4x4s are not going to be bothered about the road tax increase. The sneaky bit about the tax is that he reduced the 22p rate to 20p from 2008 but abolis...

Internet during 1st month in HH

When I get to HH I guess it will take a while to set up a new ISP. In the interim I will use an internet facility to do banking etc but how can I still emails during this period.
How long does it normally take to get connected with an ISP in Thailand ?
Thanks

Company Director Visa

Reading about enforcement of visa regulations I wonder if anyone knows the answer this :
If I am director of company (for house purchase), does this mean I need a work permit even though I am not 'working' ?

account

Deposit account is probably the safest option, current accounts may be a bit more tricky to get.
However I am in HH at end of April so will put a post on about how things went with setting up a bank account.
Also will post about general experiences in getting things set up over there

Think so

As far as I can gather 65k does that. However, money will be needed in accounts anyway so I am going to go for a belt and braces option and have money in the account and also submit my 65k as well. Better safe than sorry just in case they change their minds ! Either way cash will be needed (and plen...

Bank

just a bit more info i found: keep the bank account in your name only. When you have had minimum 800,000 Baht in the account for at least three months, go to the Immigration office and apply for an annual extension of stay for yourself for the reason of retirement. Then your wife can apply for an an...

Correct

We are doing the same in July. As I understand it, it is best to get non o for both of you first then when there apply for non o retirement with your wife as dependant. Not heard about translating of marriage licence though you will definately need it for dependant visa.

Best bank for farangs /

Does anyone have recommendation of the 'best' bank for farangs in Hua Hin ?
By that, I mean the easiest to deal with, best Engish, easiest to open etc
Many thanks
