Re: Oasis Bar Zone

Of all the 23 countries I've traveled in and the 8 that I've lived in, Thailand is the stupidest, per capita, country I've ever been to. If you appreciate living in " intelligent societies", it seems stupid on your part, to choose to live in the Land of Smiles. In fact, the whole idea tha...

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues

I'm flying back to Thailand after a short UK holiday, and travelling to Hua HIn. The cheapest Test and Go package I can find in Hua Hin is 8,500 Baht! The room would normally be 800 Baht, the taxi 1,600 Baht, so that leaves 6,100 Baht for the test. I have to do it, but I wouldn't book a holiday with...

Re: Why Do Thais Make Everything So Complicated?

I know it's a popular theme on here to say how difficult Thais make things, but I have found things pretty easy here - dealing with immigration, hospitals, shops, bars and even ladies. :D

Re: App electronic driving license

I've installed the app. The lack of English was a bit tricky, and so you have to guess a little. Once done though, it works great, and gives you ID on your phone without having to carry your license or passport. I recommend it!

Re: App electronic driving license

Thanks HHinner. I heard about the app on Surf FM this week, who's tech correspondent was talking as if it was something new! Maybe they play a few repeats! Thanks anyway, I'll give it a try.

App electronic driving license

Has anyone downloaded and started using the DLT app for an electronic Thai driving license? If so, could you briefly describe the process?

Re: Non-Immigrant Visa, OA code (1 year term) holders to require Covid insurance

The £5k loss on your funds, HH Tel - is that mainly exchange rates rather than the Thai Bank doing anything underhand?

Supplementary question - with O and OA visas, can I spend any amount of time in the UK or Thailand in a year, providing I have the necessary Re-Entry permits?

Re: Foreign property lures are rejected

So if the proposal to allow foreign ownership of 1 Rai (A little less than a 1/4 of a football pitch goes ahead). What could you do with the land? Can you build and own a house on it? Under the existing law it is already legal to build and own any building in your own name. Where you put it is some...

Re: Journey to retirement visa

That's useful thanks, so to re-cap. In Thailand I would be able to apply for the O Visa without needing to have a medical policy, but if I apply, say in the UK, the O-A requires some for of medical insurance?

Re: Journey to retirement visa

Is there any major disadvantage to a retirement visa (other than the obvious - you cant work)?

Also, I was told there are two types of retirement visa, and one has advantages? Any one aware of what this could be?

Re: Revered monk on 1,500km barefoot trek

This is not exactly breaking news  The whole of Thailand was talking about this a few months ago. I got quite excited myself.
If you want autobahns, rather than a barefoot monk waving his rhythm stick, maybe Germany is a better place?

I can't quite remember when I stopped checking if HH was Blue/Orange or even Deep RED. Life has carried on pretty much as before. Most people in HH are double jabbed, very responsible and sensible.

"Are you aware of a reopening date Robin of Loxley? "

Both making preparations, no formal dates but a weekend would be the logical time to take a look.

My arrows are quivering
