Re: Things That Wind Me Up Driving In Thailand

While this topic has been revived I think the biggest annoyance, and probably the cause of a lot of the accidents that occur on highways, is slow-moving trucks and vehicles hogging the outside passing lane when other lanes are clear. Just done 2,500km in a trip around the north and this by far was ...

Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News

Well, that didn’t last long. Jalapeños is closing, per their post on FB this morning. Tomorrow is their last day in business. It’s a shame, because they had pretty damn good Mexican food. Owner cites lack of staff and inability to provide quality food that is expected, or something along those lines...

It was buzzed heaven! And I had beer goggles on, and beer goggles don’t work just for ogling the opposite sex. This burger looked fantastic to me.

Re: Fish & Chips

Hmm when I was going to college in California I lived on my boat. Being a poor college student we ate whatever we caught. Barracuda, like mackeral, we would cut out the bloodline and it tasted OK but we were unaware of ciguatera poisoning! That was maybe why in the movie The Deep Robert Shaw told N...

Oh Bintaburger, after all these years, you still know your way to this guy’s heart after a few beers on 94. What a glorious, delicious mess.

Re: British base jumper dies in Thailand after parachute fails

These base jumpers and those parkour people have a very short shelf life. They know the risks though. This dude went out doing what he loved.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240127/9554099d389a8fb5a58779265cfd9dfd.jpg I’ve finally had barracuda! Went to Gary’s Sabai Sabai today and had the large order of fish & chips. I confirmed with Gary himself that this was barracuda. It was very good. The large order came with three pieces. T...

Re: Thailand's feral rooster infestation

You know my theory already, but I'll share it here for the sake of discussion. I think there are 2 key factors: When I first came to Thailand, Thais would eat everything that moved. Then 7-11 arrived, and its now easier to nip down the road to buy a prepared hot chicken burger than having to catch,...

Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News

Recently had a fantastic meal at Beef Town Eatery & Grill. It is next to the dusitD2 hotel. I had a Thai wagyu oyster blade steak cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the better half had lamb chops. Very, very good. But the star of the show was an avocado and crab salad with spicy mayonnaise and...

Definitely knife and fork fare, like the open-faced turkey sandwiches. Those are delicious.

Re: The best hamburger in Hua Hin

The best burgers in Hua Hin can be obtained at the Little Mermaid on Soi 94. She makes danish versions. Although there are several my favorite is the Danish trucker burger. It has all kinds of fillings (including beetroot) and is covered with a rich dark brown gravy.. Delicious!!!! Always willing t...

Re: The best hamburger in Hua Hin

If it’s not my new favorite burger in Hua Hin, it is definitely in the top 3. Had a few visits to Daddy Deli, but just today decided to try a burger there. I had the beast burger, which was a double patty. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The patties were very thick, so I had to smash them dow...

Re: Weekend in Ao Nang

Haven't been to Ao Nang for about ten years but always enjoyed it there even if it is uber touristy. We were on that beach for the tsumami which was quite an experience. Yes, Ao Nang is a lot of fun. I did enjoy my time living there, and this visit was fun as well. I don’t know when I’ll ge...
