Re: Filling in the Gaps at Ayutthaya (photo report)
It does intrigue me what is being carried in these huge vessels. Some of them carry rice, usually the covered ones, and some of them carry building sand from mines near the river. 30 years ago, I was involved with a Thai bloke that had a mining lease near Ayutthaya. I paid for a basic dredge to ext...

Sorry for not saying . . .the ceiling is made from a plasterboard, cement type of material. Both sides are some kind of strong paper . . comes in 4 by 8 sheets usually. Now, it may be termites eating the paper material on top and burrowing through to the bottom paper layer to drop bits of plaster m...

Re: Minivan, bus and road accidents
Not a nice way to go, if there is one. But if the report is correct, then exactly what did they expect may happen! I too have seen this type of behaviour time and time again from motorbikers. The last lot that I encountered were a group from Malaysia doing the same thing. ![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)

That would be my concern! Front up at arrivals and get told: "but you are already here"! "Lockup for you"!STEVE G wrote:You can still queue up for an immigration officer if you want but I was much happier with the automated system.

This guy had an angel sitting on his shoulder! https://www.bbc.com/news/videos/c900npw99j2o (Video) Yes, watched it yesterday. Not sure about any angels, more like a very skilled and cool pilot! The aircraft was probably right on the point of stalling; just slight more back pressure on the ...

Read somewhere that these events would become more frequent with climate change affecting conditions and airflow at elevation. Re: One dead as airplane makes an emergency landing in Suvarnabhumi
I miss the old jumbos, where you could have a really good walk around the plane, and you would always find a couple of like minded souls standing by the service areas, having a beer, outside of feeding times, of course. Oh yes, many a party attended, even won a heart on one memorable occasion! And ...

I suppose that is a reflection on my pilot training, but my seat belt remains loosely fastened while I am seated. I even have qualms about a short visit to the toilet! It seems that a lot of passengers have no idea about what may happen at anytime. And then there are the complete idiots that unbuckl...
