Re: Fresh Bread

Hi DB,
Those loaves look delicious.
Could you describe exactly how you make them? as I'd love to be able to do the same.

Re: Thailand general election fundamentally flawed: Human Rights Watch

A good article here from Thitinan, but not from the usual source of the Bangkok Post. Maybe it's harder hitting for that reason: https://asia.nikkei.com/Opinion/Thaksin-no-longer-scares-Thailand-s-establishment Great article, thanks! Harder hitting, as in 'truthful/factual' and straight to the poin...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Why would anyone want to buy a Chinese-made (slave-labour made) poor quality, fire prone, EV that will be worthless on the used car market? I remember my father rubbishing Japanese cars in the 1970s and now I've got a Toyota, a Honda and an Isuzu! Poor quality, fire prone, made with slave labour by...

Re: Royal pardon reduces Thaksin’s jail term to one year

Truly, truly vile. It would be interesting to see a list of government officials along with their associated criminal offences. 1) The newly 'elected' PM (the one no one voted for) is facing scrutiny for tax evasion. 2) Thaksin's lawyer was in prison for 18 months for handing out bags of cash. 3) Th...

Re: Reliable Air Conditioning Service Company.

There is some good info at the following, but one thing that I would suggest is that you buy an inverter type aircon. They are much cheaper to run, and are now reliable. . I had heard the inverter type aircon units (not sure of the brand) were prone to being 'blown up' by geckoes. Apparently the ge...

Re: Extra (Now less) Cash For Thai Pensioners

"What a state the country must really be in if they have to deprive their pensioners of a measly 600฿ each month" Absolutely....rings true from the article in the BP opinion section by the well respected economist CHARTCHAI PARASUK. https://www.bangkokpost.com/opinion/opinion/2626837/why-d...

Re: Thailand general election fundamentally flawed: Human Rights Watch

One upside to all of this, is the gooberment that will take power undemocratically, will be faced with a rapidly declining economy along with the huge problem of household debt that promises to be extremely problematic in the not too distant future. The outlook is not good, and the awful people that...

Re: Thailand general election fundamentally flawed: Human Rights Watch

Instead of making up scenarios to oust a democratically elected, honest human being.

Shouldn't the EC be sending the CC a complaint about the Deputy leader of the Bhumjaithai party that was advising Thai people to shoot each other?

Re: Traffic Lights at Khao Tao Junction

If this is the junction I'm thinking of (Heading south to Pranburi, 1st exit from Phetkasem road into Khao Tao with the 7/11 immediately on the right).....it's a death trap. That section of Phetkasem rd is very fast. Yes, there is a proper length slip road there, but that's only for drivers coming f...

Well done to the Thai population, applause all round.. I wish I was there as I'd congratulate everyone I saw for at leasta month. Everyone on this forum should do the same. Make it known to the Thais that they've made a great decision that will reap dividends for their future and their childrens fut...

Re: Upcoming general election fundamentally flawed: Human Rights Watch

It hasn’t stopped them in the past!! The difference this time is the overwhelming majority of the country voted for change.....at least 90%. Previous elections have been somewhat muted in comparison, with votes more distributed. They can't pull their dirty tricks and lies without disenfranchising t...

Re: Upcoming general election fundamentally flawed: Human Rights Watch

Fantastic early poling results. Pheu Thai and Move Forward expected to have the most first and second most votes. A coalition would be the result the people will crave for. BEWARE of the military appointed SENATE, they have the power to choose the Prime Minister and also dissolve both partys' with ...

Re: Upcoming general election fundamentally flawed: Human Rights Watch

Years ago I was in an elevator in Singapore with some locals I was working with.
I mentioned I was living in Thailand.
Their reply....ahhhh the land of slaves, followers.
I didn't like their reply, but years later, understand what they meant.
