Re: Baked Beans
I've been a Heinz bb fan most of my life. I tried Branston's a couple of years ago and found them far superior to Heinz. Their bb with sausages are also good.

Re: GBP vs THB
Doesn't look promising. The pound hit 47 in July of last year, the month Labour got in, and it's been sliding ever since.

Yes, most of our overnight journey back from Bangkok last night it was only 21C. It only rises when you enter city boundaries. I've been here 3 months and haven't seen a drop of rain! You used to have that problem in Hua Hin as well - many, many accounts on this forum from you. Luckily for Nongkhai...

Yes I know. My mate sent me the pictures. I wondered what I was getting into but knowing that I was arriving, it stopped!

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand
Having moved to Nongkhai, I'm still trying to get used to the difference in temperature.
It can be up to 10 degs cooler at night than HH. On the plus side, I've been here 3 months and haven't seen a drop of rain!

I'd agree with DB. Very expensive but you can find stuff you'll not see anywhere else. But you have to pay the price.

Re: Moving away from Hua Hin
I've moved to Nongkhai after 25 years in Hua Hin. Still have my house here. Half mine and half to my ex wife. Need to sell but my lawyer has pointed out that she needs to agree to sell, and she won't agree just now. Love Nongkhai. But I do miss the convenience in Hua Hin. You asked for reasons. Well...

Re: Termite repair person
We use CSSG 032-527620. They drill into the foundations around the house then they will fumigate the house every month. They've been around for many years so must be doing something right. Up Soi 112 from Petchkasem. Turn right into Soi 6 and you'll find them on the left before you get to the lake. ...

Re: Will the hi-tech cashless future leave a dinosaur like me behind?
It used to be the case but they do now accept major credit cards and of course promptpay (scan) They don't accept Krungsri Credit Card as I tried this morning, got refused and was pointed to the poster with UOB card which I was told is the only one they take. They certainly accept Visa and Masterca...

Re: Hua Hin nightlife crackdown
Since moving from HH, it's quite different. Bars here stay open all night as long as they have customers. The police don't seem bothered.
I'm sure there's a lot of 'knee-jerk' reaction in HH.

Re: Will the hi-tech cashless future leave a dinosaur like me behind?
Not with a decent power cut - it takes everything. I suppose if it's a wide power cut affecting your ISP that would happen. I've never found a problem even during a power cut. AIS will provide the connection to your ISP, but of course they charge for it. Maybe I've been lucky but I've never been un...
