Re: The Wine Thread
Like you I've found that Peter Vella is the closest thing to a 'decent' table wine around. I keep the red 'bag' in the fridge to keep longer. I pour a glass and let it stand for 10 mins. Then it doesn't taste chilled at all If you find better let us know Sent from my 2412DPC0AG using Tapatalk Thank...

If the timing is so important then send a day or two earlier. common sense I cannot believe the amount was so large to be a problem for one living here unless a house purchase.

Re: Hua Hin nightlife crackdown
I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist but..... So the owner of the nightclub who was organizing minibuses of bar owners going to BKK to complain about the Police being heavy handed with their closing times punishment, gets his club reportedly closed down for 5 years due to a fight. All the bars are...

Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
BB I do not understand why you have not shown HH tax people your annual HMRC Tax calculation this is an original document giving all calculations and ones tax details?? together with their covering letter addressed to you here. -There would be no need for rubbish like validations etc etc? From this...

Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
Because I've never received one, and don't know where to get it. Can you please advise where it comes from? All that I receive is a P60, which they will not accept without certification. The self assessment calculation was received in January for 2023-24. The address was HM Revenue and Customs Self...

Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
Hua Hin Today often confuses things. The tax office knows exactly what it is doing. So all other tax offices that aren't asking for verification of documents produced, are all wrong? That's really key to UK expats (at least) and our relationship with the tax office. If that requirment isn't actuall...

Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
The tax office in Hua Hin are fully aware of all of this - its their job, and what they do. They are not trying to rob anybody (even discounted my wife's expensive operation without seeing receipts). The only problem is proving that I've paid tax. Now that I have certified documentation on its way,...

Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
We are all confused with this but unless you live an extravagant life here the implications are I believe low. If you can prove you have already paid tax on what your "earned" overseas, then the implications are almost zero. Then there are deductions that can be claimed as follows: Tax al...

Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
Just a quick update, and not an update I was expecting. I've just received a scan of my document from my solicitor. It has all been stamped, sealed and approved by the Thai Embassy in London. Hopefully they won't be able to argue with that baby. If they do, they'll be fighting with each other. I wa...

Re: The Cheese Thread
Makro do a reasonably tasty cheddar (I think they call it vintage) and it’s not that expensive at less than 300 Baht for what looks about 500 gm I think you are referring to the New Zealand Mainland Cheddah which has Tasty and Vintage brands- the latter a little stronger and more crumbly. Both and ...

Quick service, fair pricing, and they actually know what they’re doing. Had my fridge fixed without any upselling or unnecessary repairs. Where ? It would be very helpful if you would kindly answer William Nels as to where readers can find this repair business you have found in hua Hin, thank you!
