NO SMOKING
Thank you guys for views and stories! Being Norwegian and living in Sweden, I've grown used to tackle the various sometimes ridiculous anti smoking laws of these countries. The "best" ones I think is in swedish airports. Connected to the pubs and cafés there is usually a glassed-in smokin...

NO SMOKING
Just read on Swedish Text-TV that smoking is not allowed in Thailand's bars and restaurants from mid February. Does it mean you can still smoke in outdoor establishments or is it a total ban? What about my favourite in Hua Hin, Crawfords, do I have to leave the bar or can I still sit at the outside ...

In Malaysia / Singapore known as a Steamboat Bigboy's photo doesn't look like the steamboat I loved in Singapore during the late 70s. This is a real Hong Kong/Malysia/Singapore Steamboat. Gives you some delicious recipies as well. http://www.where2makan.info/ http://www.sicc.org.sg/web/main.aspx?ID...

There are systems available in Hua Hin/Thailand that as well as an audible alarm, will telephone to mobile phones (and I assume land lines too) to alert that the alarm has been triggered - there is a chap with a stand outside HomePro towards the lifts that sells these (as well as automatic gates, s...

Zenfidel Wine
Originally The Zinfandel Grape is similar to the Primitivo from Italy (Apuglia).
If you can't find your California Wines try a Primitivo.
Admiral's Pub on Damnernkasem (next to the Post office) has a decent cellar.

I use the sunshine wifi signal and find it quite fast (ish) it is certainly faster than the hutch system I was using. Of course it depends if you can pick up the signal or not? The best thing I can suggest is to go to the sunshine internet shop and buy a cheap card, say 100bht. This will give you a...

On a late summer day in 1939 two finnish friends decide to go for a weekend in Warzaw. Once there they go out for gallons of vodka and a vigouring fight. During the early morning hours Hitler and his crowd bomb the town to pieces. Waking up late in their hotel room, one of them goes to the window, p...

Has anybody on this forum actually bought and then sold a house in Thailand and made a profit? [/quote] Not exactly, but when I visited HH in Nov. 2005, I met a Swedish lady and her daughter who signed a 6 million Baht contract in Feb. the same year and were offered close to 8 million by another fa...
