Re: International car rental companies in HH?

Thai Rent a Car is not international, but they also have offices all over Thailand. I have good experience with them but also with Avis and Budget. By using their websites, you can pick your best deal. Avis: http://www.avisthailand.com/EN/index.php Budget: http://www.budget.co.th/ Thai Rent a Car: h...

Re: beer prices

With all the great beers in Europe, why would anyone choose to drink Singha and/or Chang? When we have a Thai diner party, we like to serve Singha beer for the atmosphere. I can buy Singha beer in an oriental shop for € 0,95 (38 Baht), which is still 3 times more expensive then e.g. Heineken. Of co...

Re: Orient Thai: Never again!

I agree that every airline may have problems. But I have never seen that the groundstaff was not able to handle an exception and cummunicate the situation clearly. This resulted in people pushing and shouting at their counter and resulting in a complete chaos.

Orient Thai: Never again!

We had decided to spend a few days in Chiang Mai, before we would return to Netherlands after a 3 week holiday in Ban Krut. So I booked a return flight from BKK to Chiang Mai with Orient Thai. The price for 2 return tickets was THB 6200,-. Since it was only a short visit, we had only hand luggage. T...

Re: which passport to use ?

I would certainly recommend use the UK passport. My sister-in-law had a similar situation some years ago. Because she was going to stay longer than 30 days, she decided to enter Thailand on her, still valid Thai passport and of course no problems at that time. But when she wanted to go back to the N...

Re: Bangkok car rental

I allways used ThaiRentaCar as well, but when I wanted to book for October, I noticed that they had raised their rates considerably.
Last year they charged me THB 1000,- per day for a Vios.
Now they ask THB 1500,- per day.
So this year I will try Quality Rent a Car. http://www.qualityrentacar.com

Re: Fair price for a second hand laptop

It really depends how you use it. If you use a laptop as a desktop, in other words leave it always in the house in the same place, then you might as well go for a cheaper one. I have a Fujitsu laptop as well and I have it mainly because it is robust. I travel it lot with it, it gets thrown in the ca...

Re: whats in the water ????

The PH factor expresses if the water is acidic or basic.
Neutral is 7.
If is is higher, the water is basic, if it is lower then 7 the water is acidic.

After putting the salt, the PH should be around 7.

Hello Lizzy, A few years ago we have succesfully taken a yorkshire terrier from Thailand to the Netherlands. The rabies serology certificate was submitted by BioBest. (www.biobest.co.uk) Because we couldn't find a local vet, who had experience with sending the blood samples , we decided to go to BKK...

Re: Football World Cup 2010

There is big disapointment al over here in the Netherlands. We played very well and certainly were not less then the Spanish. Too bad that Robben failed to score 2 times, when he came alone in front of the goaly. But when 2 teams are so close, winning or loosing is often decided by a single event. T...

Re: Football World Cup 2010

Octopus Paul has spoken:

- Germany will win 3rd place.
- Spain will win the final.

Let's hope that Paul is only correct prdedicting the results of the German team.
