Re: Major Economic Issues For Thailand
For me if the economy goes down then whoopee, my money lasts longer. Of course there may be inflation but then it all depends what you spend on

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues
Thailand will never change. They really do not want foreighners here. Remember the thai political party Thai Rak Thai, Thai love Thai.
They will never make it easier. That is why I sold up and will only rent from now on

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues
It is like they are determined to destroy the economy. Why not just close all 1 to 3 star hotels, guest houses, hostels etc and make only 4 and 5 stat accomodation available. At the same time close all markets and street food. After all isn't it about ensuring their buddies hi so hotels and restaura...

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues
Having just been to Bangkok for four nights including a weekend I would say BKK is busy but not with foreigners. I stayed in the Arnoma Grand which in the past was always full, the only foreigners were myself and 4 Singaporeans. No beers in the bar, the hostess said the boss will not buy stock as th...

Re: Thailand hikes national park entrance fees, dual pricing remains
But are they still accepting a foreigner with a Thai ID or driving license to pay as a Thai. In my experience this was very common, however it did depend on just where you go. It was always hit and miss, the busy tourist parks in Phuket and Krabi were very unlikely to, but you stood a better chance...

Re: (Don't) Wear a Mask Debate
I have always been a staunch supporter of wearing a face mask during these difficult times. However when on my scooter the other day I got stuck behind a truck and after a very short time I had to pull over as the fumes were chocking me. Now if truck diesel fumes get through the mask I really can't...

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues
I'll post elsewhere when I see the article again and can confirm, but the Thai minimum wage is set to go to something like 496.00 Baht per day from what it is now.... 335? Quite a big jump. That may help at least a bit with the problems people are having due to Covid and inflation. This minimum wag...

Re: Booster Vaccines - Covid 19
Yes It seems only Thais knew about the walk in system. But it is in operation for anyone who has had two vaccination. My vaccines were Sinovac followed by AZ, my booster was AZ. First two at Hua Hin Hospital. I expected to be turned away but was not, best if you just go along with your paperwork and...

Re: Booster Vaccines - Covid 19
There are walk in Boosters at Blue port today 7 Jan 2022 and I was told this morning every day this week unless stocks run out.
Excellent service with the RTA providing support.
I was told to go to HH Hposital in 14 days to have my green card and Covid Pass updated.

Is that a day or night market? I assume you still have to walk through the construction site.

Re: Tough action against Hua Hin beach encroachers/demolition of pier restaurants
I have been wondering if the authorities are leaving it run down and demolished to coerce the remaining owners to move out.
An open beach would be nice, but can money be made from an open beach? We all know that money is at the root of most decisions here.

Re: Tough action against Hua Hin beach encroachers/demolition of pier restaurants
Just the same as Grand Market and Railway road demolitions, piles of bricks, concrete and timber. To me it was like walking around the demolished areas of old Liverpool, except I would never walk around there alone. The movie one up pretty much shows what it is like. The road is also getting full of...
