Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Souay Vista Social Club

I was there last night (Friday night) with friends, we drove all the way from Cha-am especially for that (and the crepes at Crepes & Co). The place was deserted, no music, noone at all except "Kong" the bartender who was very apologetic and explained that the musicians couldn't make it...

Re: Where to buy batteries for landline wireless phone?

chaspul, thanks a lot for your proposal. A friend of mine went to Bangkok and he bought 2 sets of batteries for me. 390 baht each, so next time I think I will take your offer and contact you! ;)

Re: Where to buy batteries for landline wireless phone?

Thanks a lot guys.

Babylon, I will check it out.

chaspul, yes it's the same size as AA batteries, but I'm pretty useless when it comes to handle a soldering iron.

Where to buy batteries for landline wireless phone?

Brand of the phone is Uniden and the rechargeable batteries are now dead. Anyone knows where I could buy some in Hua Hin? Thanks a lot in advance.

Re: dictionary

LOS = Land of smiles (Thailand). It's disputed though, as some say it means Land of scams.
Swampy = derogatory term for Suvarnabhumi airport, as it was built on a swamp.
TGF = Thai girlfriend.
BIB = MIB (see above), Boys in brown.

Re: wine as a gift

Try gogoflorist.com. They're more into flowers but maybe wine can be arranged, as they have wine in some gift baskets.

Never tried them myself and not affiliated to them, it's just a suggestion. ;)

Re: Where to play petanque?

Thanks a lot for your replies. I will tell my friends about soi 112. I think the place on Pala-U road is the place where they used to go and that is going to close.

Where to play petanque?

My mates used to play at Philippe's but the place is closing and they need to find another field, preferably next to a restaurant or a bar. Anyone knows where they could go to play? Thanks for your help.

Re: Santorini Fun Park

Entrance is free. Entrance is free during the week, but Friday to Sunday they charge 50 baht. I think it's the kind of place people go once, out of curiosity, but I don't see them getting regular visitors. I'm not a cheap charlie, but a ride on the merry-go-round should be 20 or 30 baht max, not 12...

Re: The new Bangkok Hospital in Hua Hin

It's good to have comfy chairs at the waiting area, but maybe they could improve the way they call out customers. Last time I was there with my 4 yo boy, they told us to sit and they would call us. There was a lof of people inside the hospital (it was during the floods in BKK) and I didn't have an a...

Hi petter,

If you are Norwegian and you enjoy live music, I recommend you to go to Ban Chang music bar in Cha-am (soi 9 north) on a Sunday night (starting 8 pm). You will love it.

Hi, yes there's a shop where you can have tshirts printed. It's the shop just next to CP, opposite Tesco Lotus Express.

Re: dual citizenship

Unfortunately I can't give you exact details as it was based upon a conversation. I understand though that some secondary schools here (high schools) have cadet programs and if the boy goes through that for x years, he is exempt from the draft. I was told it's called "roh-doh" (ร.ด.) and ...
