Re: Golden Place Recommendations
I saw a lot of very good quality products available at a very Royal Project price. Was there anything in particular that you thought was a good buy?
I saw some reasonably priced ice cream, so I am sure that there must be some other bargains.

Golden Place Recommendations
A lot of the stock inside Golden Place is either very high end or culturally new to me. I am sure that there must be some real gems that are in my budget, but it is hard to know when many things I cannot even recognise. Does anybody have any good tips on good buys at Golden Place? Has anybody been t...

Re: Ice cream in Hua Hin
" There's a freezer in shopping mall." Thank you so much for the heads up. That cabinet is a real treasure trove and is filled with all kinds of Ete fruit lollies. I managed to pull out an ultra-rare Thai Pumpkin Custard (Sankaya Faktong- สังขยาฟักทอง) example. I cannot even find a picture...

An upgrade on the original Electric Blanket
Has anybody spotted something similar to an eight sleep pod cover in Thailand.
https://www.eightsleep.com/pod-cover/
It supposedly works to cool the bed during sleep which sounds like a good idea, but i am seriously put off by the start up bro price tag.
Is there something similar available here?

Re: Ice cream in Hua Hin
Thank you guys. Tops used to stock Old White House coffee from Ipoh, but I stopped going once they discontinued that. Still, it will be interesting to see if they have a bunch of unusual ices as well. As for Shopping Mall, the lap dogs would always recognise me and come for some fuss, but the owner ...

Re: Ice cream in Hua Hin
They have 19 baht durian lollies at Golden Place along with a bunch of interesting flavours (such as sala) but I have not had chance to do a comparison yet.
Is there a freezer full of lollipops and cones in shopping mall? And in Tops too?

Re: Ice cream in Hua Hin
My fave local ice cream is the lady with the cart just up past Gee and Tung on Chomsin opposite 7/11. Her big paper bowls filled with at least half a dozen scoops and all the extras, beat anything out of a convenience store freezer hands down.

Malt Extract
Has anybody seen malt extract available in Hua Hin?
I have read that it is available at at large baking supplies shop in Phuket, and I have seen a few of these in HH, so I will endeavour to track down the proper translation and heave a search. Any tips on where to begin?

Re: Ice cream in Hua Hin
God damn, and I went to Gee and Tung during the week instead, and I they only had a very limited selection. It is a shame that the Srassing Road is such a shadow of its former self, but this means that I rarely go to Shopping Mall anymore. At 35 baht, it sounds like it might have been the Kings' Pot...

Re: Ice cream in Hua Hin
Have you tried the salted caramel or the new Crown? How is the cone? Not cardboard, I hope. Still 36 baht is a bit steep for an ice cream. Tonight, I had a Magnolia Sawasdee Durian Popsicle, which tasted just as creamy as the real thing but was only ten baht. How much real durian do you get for 10 b...

Re: Ice cream in Hua Hin
Last night, while randomly rummaging through the chest freezer in THE 7-11 near the Baguette Shop on Petchakasem Road, I was delighted to uncover a secret stash of hard-to-find Lotte ice creams. Hiding away at the back were a handful of Lotte Greek Yogurt Blueberry Ripples. At 29 baht each, they are...
