Been visiting Thailand for a few months a year for 3 years now. Would love to buy a property her but am put of by the short leases and no chance of freehold ownership. I am mid thirty's and plan on needing the property for more than 30 years. Having visited Vietnam last year and learning that you ca...

crutch
Yeah the crutch is kind off a give away Richard. You'd be surprised how many people see it and then try to push past you or just stare and watch you struggle. I should add that i'm a stubborn sod and like to prove to myself that i can cope.

Sawadee
Went to Sawadee restaurant opposite hilton. Other than 2 steps to get up it's totally flat once inside and has easy to access toilets with large cubicles and handles on the walls. Best so far and nice to see some effort on disabled toilets. Makes visiting less of a trauma when you know you can get t...

Well if everything was just like home for access it just wouldn't be as interesting and it's certainly forced me to walk more and it's having a positive effect on my fitness. You really need to plan your toilet stops if you start drinking in the markets and 3 large changs later need to crack the sea...

It does sound a little odd but does make a lot of sense. Do you have any idea what you should look to be paying her?

Disabled condo
For next years visit i would like to find a better place to stay. My current condo has 10 steps with no hand rails to get to the pool. Not asking for miricles, but would like fairly level access to the pool area. a decent sized pool suitable for swimming lengths. Walk in showers. Not a huge request ...

I've been told it's 200 bhat day for labourours, security guards etc.Not sure paying security that little is a good idea.
As for my cost of living its through the roof with the pound so weak. Still wouldn't call it expensive here though.

Lucky
Despite all the problems you still have to think how lucky you are. From what i see disabled thai's get little or no support unless their family is capable of supporting them. If i visited at a time when i was fully in a wheelchair I would have to pay for a helper or juststay at the hotel. Even the ...

Four seasons
Located opposite hilton. Had a great meal here. 6 of us and all great meals. The rump steak i had was delicious and the staff always attentive and nothing to much trouble. Everytime I ask for sour cream to go with a baked potato I'm told they don't have it. Here they didn't but went off to make some...
