 Yes for me it was Hienakin or Singa mostly around 70Baht a bottle even in 2003-2004 so prices don't seem to have gone up much.
I tried the beer in Hilton pub I think it was called monkey something, expensive and not worth the money.

Hi Den As most of the posters have said it is very safe in Hua Hin provided you follow some basic rules. Stick to well light areas with plenty of other people about. Don't flash wads of cash. As Kendo said watch out for those curbs and drains. I'm sure you will feel safe and enjoy Hua Hin after dark...

Hi brit583
Being disabled myself (though not yet wheelchair bound) I found the bars in Soi Bintabaht opposite Hilton were more suitable for my mobility problems. Girls always willing to help you.
Good luck.

:( When we had our European kitchen built, my wife, who is short in stature insisted on "her 5 burner hob and worktops being much lower than standard height" and me being taller had to have seperate hob so I did not get backache when using it. So we have 2 of everything, 2 hobs, 2 hoods, 2...

We bought one from Argos in the UK to take with us, it was a double mattress with electric pump fitted, only takes a minute to pump up and folds down into small bag for storage.
Ideal for an extra "put you up bed" when needed.
Cost around £85 but we found it very usefull.

I used the kitchen company next to Shell to draw up plans and they wanted over 600.000baht for units.
So I took plans to a chap near railway crossing and he did very good job for less than half that.
Sorry don,t know company name, will ask wife if she can remember.

Shoot me down if I'm wrong but I think that Thai gold bars can only be traded inside Thailand. I don't think you will be able to sell it if you take it out of the country.
Better to buy gold stocks/shares as you will not be worried about having gold bars nicked etc. :(
