Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
When you buy an EV does it come with a charging wire (Length?), the male end insert, and the needed base box/parts that you can have an electrician install on your house. If not, does the dealer sell them as "accessories"? My EV came with the following in the UK. 1. A cable that can be us...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
I’ve not really considered the latest Chinese offerings that have hit the UK shores, but reading that article on the Seal isn’t likely to endure me to them. I never have been a fan of large screens that operate virtually every single thing in the car, and not to have Navigation built in to me is a b...

2/cb “300 miles on a charge? Hmm… I will stay rooted in facts, and keep my petrol hybrid. And facts are boring sometimes.” Yes, 300 miles on a charge. FACT Even a few miles more on hot summer days as my EV has a heat pump. The only fact that you’ve shown so far, is the fact that you’re totally ignor...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
Sorry to burst your bubble, but SMMT's forecast for 2024 new BEV,s sales is 414,000. 20,935 BEV's, 18,744 Hybrid's HEV's and 11,944 Hybrid Electrics PHEV's were newly registered in January 2024 alone! 414,000 where's the fall in those numbers? My EV easily does 300+ miles on a charge. Insurance is n...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
She’s 5ft nothing, but she’s a typical Thai girl, nothing phase her, plus, like the Soul, both these cars have very good HUD’s so she won’t need to peek through the steering wheel to see how fast she’s going. 🤣 May have to get a small ladder for her to get up into the car though. 🤔 We had an Adventu...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
Ok for some!! I’m sure you’ll have many years of trouble-free motoring with those. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Didn’t mean to buy either of them, but took the Soul in for its MOT and saw both in the showroom and the rest is history. The wife hasn’t even seen either of them in the wild and on...

Our Kia Soul FE has now done 57K miles so it’s going into hybernation and we’ve ordered 2 new ones, a Kia Nero EV 4 and an EV9 Gt line 6 for end of April delivery.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
The Vietnamese are coming! https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/2024/03/27/vietnamese-automaker-vinfast-to-start-selling-evs-in-thailand/ Its a sign of Thailands decline over the last 20 years, that another SE Asian country is ahead of Thailand in producing it's own EV, or any vehicle for that matte...

Re: Ceiling/roof insulation
We have the spray foam insulation in our place and the difference in retaining the cooled air inside is extremely noticeable. Someone mentioned about using this type of insulation in the UK. Mortgage companies are dead against using it and most won’t give a mortgage on properties that have it instal...

Re: Buying a new smart TV
One is in the new garden room we built for my young son to have friends over for sleepovers and to play together on their XBox series x and their Oculus headsets, which is linked via WiFi to the eero router network 30 meters away in the house, one in the sitting room and one in our sons bedroom, whe...

Re: Buying a new smart TV
We have 3 LG OLED 65 inch TV’s here in the UK. Originally we bought one for our son’s Xbox games but decided to get rid of the original LED TV’s when we saw how good the picture is on OLED’s. Got them all from Currys when the prices drop several hundred’s of pounds at Christmas over the last 2 years...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
My Kia has done almost 50k miles in 2.5 years and we’ll change it soon for another EV with a bigger battery than the 64Kwh battery it has now. It’s a Lithium-ion polymer battery which I have no doubt will easily go on until 150k miles maybe more. Even then it could be recycled as a power bank for a ...

Re: My Tripadvisor review for Alberto, new Italian restaurant
Looks great and we could walk there in 2 mins, we’re only down the road and what 404 said about the road is true. Quiet at night and easy to park. Italian food is our favourite out all European countries for food and Alberto menu look great. Wishing them all the best and hope they do well. We’ll def...
