Re: AirAsia to fly KL to Hua Hin from May 18

Booking for November is now possible with the same schedule as before, but there is a remark:
Operation of flights is subject to obtaining government approval.

Do you mean meters or feet? 4 m deep would be very strange.

Re: Immigration to introduce 90 day reporting online

After not succeeding online I made my 90 days report at Blueport. I asked the officer about the online report and he just smiled and said "dont work". But it was much more expensive at Blueport, because we ate at a restaurant (Wine Connection, very good) and did some shopping of specialities at Gour...

Re: Most practical and least expensive way to transfer large funds to Thailand?

I just looked at Transferwise. The fees rise with the amount of money you send. For small amounts it might be cheaper than other transactions, but for larger sums it is more expensive.

Re: Immigration to introduce 90 day reporting online

Today I tried again the 90 day reporting online, but it did not work. There came a message that I should visit the immigration office. Last time it worked online for me.

Re: GPS for Honda CRV

e.g. if you want to go to Bangkok, you put in your destination as long as you are at home connected to internet, maybe some weeks before you go. Then when you go you will have the complete route available offline, but no traffic information. Then the Bangkok map is stored locally and next time you c...

Re: GPS for Honda CRV

I use the "here" app, which is free and can be used offline. You just have to use an address in the region you want to go online once before.

Re: Heavy crackdown looms on Uber, ride-sharing apps

In Bangkok I used Uber and Grab. On a short drive Uber was 40 Baht and Grab 112 Baht. On a longer drive Uber was nearly 600 Baht and Grab was 308 Baht. Both adjust their fees to the demand at the time of booking.

Re: 10 year visas now available, can somebody tell immigration

End of January, when I made my 1 year extension (retirement) I asked the officer about this visa. Only to see, if he knows about it. I dont have the money to make it. And he knew a lot about it. You can apply in Thailand, but you must have the 3 Million Baht already one year on an account and you ha...

I made my one year extension on friday and submitted photos with blue background. No problem, but another officer might have another opinion.
