I'm pretty sure there is a points system for your licence too, but you start with a very high number and lose them rather than accumulate then.

As for the speed traps, they are definitely outside bkk, I've been caught a few times travelling to Koh Chang. I can't remember the road, maybe 346, that heads towards Klaeng. A friend is always caught on the new bypass to Krabi.

a colleague told me about this site, I use another site for Bangkok where I am based - don't know if I can say it, so I won't! Anyway, that site is awful, heavily censored and is around just to make money! I've already learnt a lot about the area on my first day!

Just a quick hello from a newbie! I'm planning a visit next week with a view to a move early next year as my company relocates.

Currently baking in Bangkok!!

I'm planning to drive down from Bangkok next week, my first trip south for a few years. Does anyone know what kind of time I could expect it to take? Is there any area that has roadworks at the mo? I'm going to leave early ish in the morning to avoid the Bangkok nightmare!

I've seen it on the booking page and it looks nice. I'm thinking of going for a two bedroom suite. Anyone stayed there or know of it and can offer advice on it's quality?

I also like the look of Casa del Mare.
