Re: A new (Swedish) restaurant coming soon

I hope this was the opening photograph and not the first days lunch gathering?

I wish them well.

Re: The Floods of 2011

Unf'nbelievable! It's flooding where i live in Bangkok. I tried going out today and the main road is completely flooded with 3-4 feet of water currently, broke my front license plate holder, so there goes another 1,000 baht down the Thai toilet to replace it. Will probably go to the dealership and ...

Re: Hua Hin floods

Even though the hotel is almost certainly using a minibus at 700 Baht, it is unlikely that the driver will be racing like he is trying to qualify for Sunday's Grand Prix.

Re: Hua Hin floods

Most of the advisors on this forum do not recommend using the mini-buses as most of them are driven by former kamikaze pilots in their previous life, so if you can get a hotel transfer for 700 Baht, I would recommend that you take it.

Re: Interested in Ford Everest & standard of service at Hua

[quote="huahincharlie Forgive me for asking this, but do you find that owning a Pajero (which looks like the pickup equivalent from the front) that police stop you often because they think your motor is a pick-up as you're approaching? I notice on my journeys between here and Bangkok that whene...

Re: Hua Hin floods

Hi all. I am due to land at Bangkok on the 1st Nov and then travel to Hua Hin by taxi. Does anyone know if the ruote is still open or if it is in danger of being flooded? Re: Hua Hin floods

Loy Krathong this year falls on the 10th November and if you click on the "Tourist Guide" section of the main Expat Hua Hin front page, you will be able to find details about the festival.

Re: Interested in Ford Everest & standard of service at Hua

Before I relocated to HH just over 2 months ago, my two previous cars which I had for 2 years each, were a Honda Accord and a Toyota Camry, both 2.4 petrol with Auto and for me the Accord was by far the better of the two. Having said that, I have bought a Pajero Sport here in HH and am very happy wi...

Re: World's best Whisky

I've just been to a shop here in Luxembourg where I am at the moment and they didn't have any. They did have a 12 year Old Pulteney but seeing as it was almost 50 euros it seems likely that a 21 year might be quite a pricy tipple if you can find it. It is advertised on the web at about £75 for a 70...

Re: Food for man and his beast

Thanks for the map & info. guys - certainly a few more to add to the list to try!  As an aside, do any of the places serving a ''Full English'' actually sell bacon or sausages (uncooked)? I think it was Victoria's that I have bought from on earlier visits - ''proper gear'', not...

Re: Get smashed or ride the wave

It depends on how much you want (or can afford) to spend - I bought a Honda PCX which rides so much nicer than a Wave, but then it should at almost double the price!!

Re: Coconuts bar

I think the OP makes a fair point when he says he is asking about the bar and what is it like, so that they have an idea about the place before they arrive? Fair enough if they make a beeline for it and it turns out to be no good, then for sure they will move on to somewhere that has what they are l...
