Re: 150 baht fee to be charged to foreign ATM cardholders
so are you saying that with USAA there is only the 1% charge and not the second charge and that they refund some of the international (local) ATM charges (up to $15 per month, at 150 baht per transaction they should refund 3 of the local fees per month). Yes. Also, according to the web site, I coul...

Re: seeking the good oil for massages
100% virgin coconut oil. It's advantages are: 1) Good for the skin, 2) It's a solid at room temperature so it doesn't spill, yet it melts almost on contact with your hands. One stores it in a shallow, large mouth container that is big enough to put a hand in. In the states it is sold in such contain...

Re: 150 baht fee to be charged to foreign ATM cardholders
I have ATMs from two banks in the states. Capital One has been crediting my account with one or two ATM fees a month, same with USAA. Can't see any pattern why the 1 vs. 2 and haven't checked the websites for explanation. Both banks refund all fees in the states, up to a $ limit, because they have f...

Looking for an ambient temperature thermometer
Not a medical or over thermometer. Ideally a refrigerator thermometer but I'd be happy with anything small and went down to 0 C. Tried Tesco/lotus, the store directly above it and Index. None of them had any kind of thermometer. Have you seen with your own two eyes thermometers for sale in town? Som...

Re: How much would it cost to live in Thailand (HH) for one
I think that Homers spreadsheet ( ok for him) is not many peoples vision on how their retirement should be! Nor would I expect it to be, based on how I saw my fellow co-workers spend their comparable incomes back in the states. I hesitated before posting the spreadsheet because the spending has bee...

Re: How much would it cost to live in Thailand (HH) for one
300 000 bahts should be the minimum for a year, i recommend at least 500 000 Bahts to enjoy your time. After four months of living here I agree with the 500k. My total is a little less than that. That includes one visa run and too much rent for too small of a room that had an ocean view, a 2 minute...

The lighter fraction of vegetable oils is dominantly linoleic acid (up to 60%), which apart from being the main oil in paint and putty, is also the substance they used to suppress the immune system in early transplant surgery. So to give your heart a break, you are giving every opportunistic cancer...

Re: Anyone living in Hua Hin on a special diet?
I've found cashews, almonds, peanuts, pistacios, sunflower seeds, squash seeds and a few I didn't recognize or remember. Most are salted and few are dry roasted. Haven't seen any raw, shelled nuts.
