Re: Insurance requirements for entering Thailand

You need minimum 1 year insurance worth 400,000 THB plus 40,000 THB outpatient coverage. On top you will need Certificate of Entry (COE) which I'm confident the embassy website will tell you the requirements to obtain that.

Re: Covid19 - updates on immigration and visa extensions

Lomuamart is correct. Non-O holders without Thai family cannot return at this time even if they have valid visa and re-entry permit.
Only option for now is to re-apply for a Non-O-A visa, and to do that requires a long list of supporting documents.

Re: Ear Problems

The ENT doctor on Petkhasem Road opposite Hua Hin hospital was indeed good and she helped me with ear problems several times. Regrettably she died of cancer about 2 years ago. She was only about 35 years.

Re: Ear doctor/specialist

Does anybody know where the Ear, Nose and Throat clinic opposite Hua Hin General Hospital has moved. I visited the place in the past and the lady doctor was always very effective and professional. I asked in the adjacent Eye clinic, but they could only tell me the ENT clinic was closed.

Re: AIS phone, how long before sim card expires?

You can dial *121# to check how much money is left and the time validity of your SIM card. When 2-3 weeks past the validity date AIS will cancel the card and allocate your number to a new subscriber. At that point there is no way to regain your former number.

Re: Air China

Air China has a poor safety record. The company I worked for did not allow us to use China Air.

Re: Police Directions

Have you noticed police on motorcycle/scooter have helmets that are only half the size of regular helmets. The reason appears obvious. Perhaps they even use this particular helmet as the qualifier for employment in the police force. If it fits, you got a job.

Re: Bamboo and cane furniture shops

there is a shop in Cha-Am that produces bamboo and cane furnitures. If you drive north through Cha-Am towards BKK, the shop is located on your right hands as you basically leave Cha-Am. If you come from the by-pass going north, the shop is on you left hand as you turn south going into Cha-Am. They u...

Re: Bus to Bangkok

I see that reference frequetly to some blue/white buses leaving from Sa Song road or the Clock tower, but I have never been able to identify where they leave from or arrive at. Does anyone know the exact location?

Bus to Bangkok

Do any of the readers know if there is an airconditioned VIP bus service to Bangkok, not the one going to the airport and not the kamikase piloted small buses from the corner of Chomsin/Petshkasem Road. If there is where do they start from in Hua Hin.

Re: parking at temple

I could have written that blog myself - he is indeed a nasty little bastard. On a number of occassions he has told me to leave the premises for no good reason. On one occassion I had just parked in an empty slot when the bastard started to make a fuss and told me I couldn't part in that slot. I reve...

Re: HH Immigration, could be a very long wait?

I was also at immigration yesterday for a re-entry for my wife. There were many people but we attributed that to the public holiday Thursday. However we were done in 20 minutes so I don't understand chaspul's description of the situation. Another point, I have never filled in form TM47 for a 90-days...
