Re: Help ID a Farang HIT & RUN Motorcyclist

ONLY ASKED YOU TO CONSIDER POTENTIAL WEAKNESSES / CONSEQUENCES IN YOUR CASE / SITUATION SO YOU COULD REFINE YOUR PLAN TO MAYBE GET A BETTER OUTCOME / WHAT YOU NEED. What happens you go off half cocked not understandind that the shock I referred to was incurred by the accident you suffered before tal...

Re: Help ID a Farang HIT & RUN Motorcyclist

Sad to hear of your accident, hope your and your missus will make a full recovery. I have read the entire thread and it seems you have !00% support, albeit not always well recieved, and think it is great the expat community is showing it will not tolerate this incident even from another expat. No-on...

Re: New pill may cut heart failure rate

Further, to my last post (just to clarify the issue of the utility of 'medical recommendations) be aware that the School of Public Health at Harvard has recently published that "CORRECT MEDICAL TREATMENT" is the third leading cause of death within the US!!! Correct is not a typographical e...

Re: New pill may cut heart failure rate

Confusion means you are genuinely developing an appreciation of the topic. People who know little tend to think they 'know it all'. When they know more about a topic and different findings / interpretations begin to surface 'confusion begins'. Then if they develop an understanding of why and how the...

Re: New pill may cut heart failure rate

I've drank red wine nearly daily for most of my adult life... so where do I get GSE locally in the concentrated form. Because I was worried about the possible liver damage side effects, I cut my physician recommended dose of statin in half a couple of years ago. total cholesterol before starting st...

Re: New pill may cut heart failure rate

Hi HHF, Spitfire's grape seed antioxidant tip tends to be a real benefit, red grape juice not made without crushing the seeds though is of minimal benefit. Hawthorn and Bilberry MAY be beneficial but large doses of omega3 and niacin (see Harvard's page on cholesterol) tend to be REALLY useful. Follo...

+1 to all of the preceding posts. Moderate drinking, red wine, on top of an active healthy diet while engaging in social interactions and avoiding unneccesary risks.

Re: New pill may cut heart failure rate

Spitfire your views on CoQ10 are pretty correct and it also has the added ability to recycle other antioxidants. The problem with supplementing CoQ10 is the bio-availability and safety of these supplements is questionable and lacks sufficient quality research. Further, an increasing body of research...

Re: New pill may cut heart failure rate

The current 20 peer reviewed but not independent investigations (just checked) suggest this drug maybe an advance but it is new and could just as easily become another new disaster. Keep in mind that the current epidemic of heart failure deaths in the US and a lot of cancer deaths and neurological c...

Re: Worried about your loved one planning to bump you off?

I read a news story somewhere else about an American's murder (not in Hua Hin) and it stated that the police did not consider his companion a suspect because they were married. In the U.S., when there is a suspicious death, the spouse is number one on the suspect list until they are cleared and is ...

"Has the World economy suddenly improved without my noticing?" Apparently, yes  or so say the figures the president of the largest bank in south east asia gets, further he said he was now bullish (+ve) on the Thai property market despite the possabilty that the recent signs of global...

Re: Thailand’s MBK offering condo financing for foreigners

UPDATE: Just saw KC (president UOB) and he now is saying that MAYBE the market has bottomed and should begin strengthening including in Hua Hin. Getting a loan from his bank is not only possible for foreigners but is very competitive interest rate wise and overcomes the hurdle that non-residents hav...

Re: Thailand’s MBK offering condo financing for foreigners

Expensive! I just got a morgage on a Cha-am condo 1.5% for the first year and MLR minus 1.25% thereafter from Ayudhya Bank (but I know the major shareholder and am a resident) I am also aware that UOB bank will provide competetive rate morgages to foreigners but these loans are made in either Singap...

Re: The Clans

The 'na ........' tends to stem from prior royal connections to the many local provincial royal families in Thailand's history that due to their elevated class tended to marry within this class, especially those in the crown royal linage. I do not know how many provincial royal families existed / ex...

Sargeant, take a good look in a mirror, whatever you think you see, you are almost certainly wrong, ask your ex what she sees when she looks at you and contemplate the difference (if any).
