Re: Japan Airlines plane in flames on the runway at Tokyo's Haneda Airport
A reminder to me that each and every member of cabin crew is highly trained to save my life in an emergency. I am in awe of the JAL crew today.

Re: My Tripadvisor review for Alberto, new Italian restaurant
Went last night, after reading 404cameljockey’s post. Still a soft opening and few tweaks needed but I can honestly say the veal cheeks were the best I’ve had anywhere in the world. Absolute perfection. My friend enjoyed her lamb ragu, the wine was good (and not a huge mark-up) and I'm still droolin...

As a denizen of Soi 156 this should make things a little easier for me. (Yes I know I need to get a life, but reading this HHTel intel has got me inordinately excited, so thank you!)

Re: Jewelry repair recommendations
Saphira remodelled and resized a diamond cluster ring for me a few years back and also repaired a gold necklace and bracelet. I was happy with the work. It’s a few doors from Villa Market heading north.

Ton’s bar (‘Mon Bistro’) on opposite side of the road across from Holiday Inn Vana Nava, Nong Kae, and a one-minute walk to the right from the market if facing Petchkasem). A jungly little oasis, only open in the afternoons - [cheap] cold beers, good music and friendly hospitality

Re: Johnny Walker (JW) Appeal
Richard Vine posted 3/4/23 on Friends of Johnny Facebook page that JW is in a care home in Low Etherley, Bishop Auckland and his cousin takes him out every weekend. The home overlooks the village cricket ground, which apparently is perfect for him as he loves his cricket. So it sounds like he’s as o...

“Wrought iron” gate
Hi, does anyone know of a local synthetic wrought iron-style gate/fence manufacturer? I was told there is a good one on the main road going in to Pranburi - if anyone has the name and/or location of it, or another supplier, I'd appreciate it.

Re: Canvas framers/art studio in town?
Past Khao Tao. Apart from other stuff I’d like done, I have a really big canvas frame painting that I want to have one side cut off. At its current size it won’t fit in my car and I don’t want to inconvenience my neighbour who kindly mentioned they could drop it off in town for me in their pick-up.

Canvas framers/art studio in town?
Hi, are there any artists studios/picture framers still in the town centre? I used to go to UU but they've moved, and I can't find a similar place. I'm looking to get a couple of existing paintings put on canvas frames as well as maybe commissioning new artwork. If possible, hoping not to have to tr...

Re: Induction Cooktops / Hobs
Hello all, I bought a cheap Philips induction plate from Lazada recently for occasional use as I have an open plan kitchen/lounge setup and didn’t want the lingering aroma of cooking mackerel etc. in the house. I just plug it in on the veranda and any fishy smells stay out there. Works well with my ...
