Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin
I sent an e-mail to Bell Travel about (a) the addition of the B50 booking charge and (2) the removal of the seat reservation and got a reasoned explanation about both. The current booking system was crashing and causing duplicate bookings, oversold buses and more, so they had to turn to a new system...

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin
Yeah, it looks like they added a B50 booking fee. Wonder if you pay that if you book in person at the window at the bus station. Also, I was checking dates, and didn't find any availability after 19-April, even though the notice said booking was available through 31-May.

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin
Hi all! I'm trying to book the bus from BKK to HH in the beginning of February but that does not seem to be possible. The site says: Open for booking until Jan. 31, 2016 only: (Announced on Oct 7, 2015) Booking of the trip from Feb. 1st 2016 will be opened in Mid January 2016. Has anyone more infor...

Additionally the airline can be subject to some hefty fines by Immigrations.oakdale160 wrote:In all fairness, the airlines are protecting themselves. If they fly ina passenger who is not admitted, the airline has to fly them out again.

Re: New Villa Market in Hua Hin
While I enjoy the presence of Villa Market on P'Road near Soi 84, I would welcome some competition from Foodland, Tops, Central, etc. I just returned from a few years living across the way in Jomtien and used to shop at FoodMart, which itself is not known for bargain prices. However, I used to buy 1...

Home Pro shoppers: check your transactions/point balances
Went to Home Pro today on (what I thought would be) a simple mission to change the delivery date for a clothes dryer from 05-Jan to 06-Jan. I accidentally brought the wrong receipt (I brought the one for the washer delivered on 25-Dec), but the lady at the delivery desk couldn't find a transaction i...

Re: New Post Office in Hua Hin
500 Bht per year cost and I think I gave a copy of my passport. Same here: just a copy of passport picture page, fill out a form, and hand over B500. I still need to get back to receive the key. The guy at the counter said to show the receipt and pay a B300 deposit a week later, but I've been back ...

Re: New Post Office in Hua Hin
I know it's a PITA to change your address with all your correspondents (and to remember them all...) but the old post office across the street from the police station has several boxes still available, if you want to relocate your mail to a more central location. I rented one last week and had a cho...

Re: Getting caught up, I've been gone a few years
Is the underground car park open again, does anyone know? I've not tried it, but it looks open, and the charge seems to have been dropped for now. Yes, it is wide open. On Friday, I walked down the entrance ramp on Soi 76 and out the other side on Soi 74/2. No gates, ticket dispensers, toll booths,...

Re: Any ferry from H.H. to Pattaya now?
I do know some people actually use Thai Post to *mail* their moto-sais (scooters). Apparently it's not as far fetched as it might sound, and apparently not too expensive.

Re: New bus service Hua Hin to Pattaya
I think it's highly preferable to minivans HH <> Pattaya. Minivians might be quicker, but the safety, much less the comfort, is an invaluable factor. A five-hour lumbering ride in a comfortable "business class" seat (with an onboard toilet, and no intermediate toilet stops) vs being squish...

Re: Thai Driver's License Renewal
Doesn't sound too bad. It's irritating that apparently some Immigrations Offices don't charge at all for the letter. In Jomtien, the procedure seems to be if you can wait a few weeks it's free, but if you want it sooner (same day?) there's a fee, but I think it's less than B500. But, after living in...

Re: New bus service Hua Hin to Pattaya
Trip report : Took the new Bell Travel Bus from Pattaya to Hua Hin yesterday (08-Dec-2015). Same bus as used to Suvarnabhumi airport, i.e. nice wide seats (single seat on left, pair of seats on the right with a reasonably wide armrest separating them) with plenty of leg room and recline. Departed P...

Re: A damn good sandwich
We just had one of the best sandwich in town at the new Bliss Bakery and Cafe. I had the chicken and Salmon club sandwich and hubby had the peppered beef with chedder sandwich. They bake their own breads and they are great. The portion is huge, the pepper beef is more like a opened face steak sandw...

Re: Getting caught up, I've been gone a few years
I obviously lied :D Driving back from Makro just now. I stopped at the Tessebahn lights, right outside. There are 4 large signs outside saying, " Now Open ." The place was absolutely deserted (it's open fronted, so you can see most of it from the road), and I couldn't see a single retail ...
