Re: 19th Hua Hin Vintage Car Parade

The promoter of the Vintage Car Parade has submitted a request to the PKK governor that he allows the restaurants to serve alcohol with meals, otherwise, people from out of town will not come here and the day will be a big flop. As Avani is located in Petchburi Province, could be the promoter has a...

Re: Good service at B-Quick.

Anyway, next time I need any form of tyre service, B-Quick will be my first port of call. :thumb: Can see the mustard structure of the new Cha-am branch quickly taking shape at the end of the drive. Assume aiming to open at the same time as the new Lotus's. Like Dannie Boy, I have also found B-Quic...

Re: Lotus's Cha-am Opening

Has shot up in the past fortnight and sign now advertises opening 23rd July, so 2 weeks today.
Very handy for me, a two-minute walk at most, and yes Dannie Boy that would be from a back entrance on Sri Sakul Thai Road.

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19

My granddaughter was quite ill for about 3 days, but one of her group had to be admitted to hospital. Thankfully, all are well now, ... symptoms seem nasty - dizziness, sickness, hot and sweaty. The one who had both jabs had a very high temperature, but no other symptoms My daughters, 26 & 35, ...

Re: Coronavirus Precautions/News/Updates for Hua Hin/Prachuap

Hearing from my wife, who's just got back from visiting her mum and sister in Khao Yoi, just north of Petchburi, there's a significant cluster there (30-odd people), with market closed, as well as Robinsons Petchburi. She is not usually prone to exaggeration so can anyone substantiate this or is it...

Re: Coronavirus Precautions/News/Updates for Hua Hin/Prachuap

Wait till half of Bangkok rocks up for their long weekend in Hua Hin starting today. :duck: Take it from me that people are sensibly choosing not to travel, cancellations are far outweighing bookings and those that do make the journey are mostly playing safe and eating in-house rather than going ou...

Re: Coronavirus Precautions/News/Updates for Hua Hin/Prachuap

Looking back, before this latest 'wave', our highest one day infection number was 188 at this time last year. That prompted Thailand to go into complete lockdown, almost everything shut, and curfews imposed. Here we are pushing 3,000 new cases and people can still travel (even encouraged to), resta...

Re: Insurance required for Thai visiting UK

At last we have got a visa for my gf to visit england soon. The journey of getting one is a different story (a painful one) However we just need help with one issue. We have read that short term (3 months) medical insurance is required. But even though I have searched on the internet I can't find a...

Re: Coronavirus Precautions/News/Updates for Hua Hin/Prachuap

Think there are 4 holibobs next month, incuding a couple of long weekends.Another kick in the teeth for the hospitality industry who've seen another 'holiday season' destroyed if you include the Songkran cancellations which were around 50% of the 'on-the-book' bookings. Totally agree about the hypoc...
