Re: Trip to Phuket/Krabi/Phi Phi
Of the three Krabi is my personal choice. Phuket is nuts and Phi Phi is not what it used to be. If you like quiet then continue to Koh Lanta is what I would recommend as it is a hop skip and jump from Krabi and the resorts on the west side are great for sunsets.

Re: Could I Retire in Thailand with 45,000 baht/month?
A side bar....As airline staff when I do retire I will have certain flight benefits so that is not an issue as long as they remain valid which is a very murky question as the rules seem to change every year.

Re: 45,000 baht
This is right at this moment and only a question. By the time I do retire its looking more in the realm of 60,000 to 65,000 thai baht but I was just wondering is all. It was a wishful what if I retired at this moment question could it work. Ahh one can dream.

Could I Retire in Thailand with 45,000 baht/month?
So things can change I know that but if I retired today I would be getting around 45,000 Thai baht a month. What do you think would that be enough to get by monthly for food and rent and maybe a treat or two? I was looking around at rent in Hua Hin and the cheapest I found was for 5,000 baht a month...

Re: Opportunities in Thailand/Hua Hin?
I guess you could always try your hand in the bar scene and open a little place and keep teaching on the side. The big thing is you have to have some sort of income set up for when your getting older. As it sounds like you don`t have of a nest egg and you do not want to go else where not sure what t...

Re: GIRLFRIEND SAYS ITS OVER AFTER 2 AND HALF YEARS
Its a numbers game and she found someone with more numbers. Its sad that love/Passion can be undone by Thai Baht and a nicer car. My ex who is Thai as we all know told me about her friend who had been seeing a D.J in Bangkok for 5 years and loved him but she left him because she met a richer older g...

Re: Minivan, bus and road accidents
One horror story I had was a minibus from Hua Hin to victory and I had the back seat center with the transmission hub at my feet poking up so no real foot space and my knees raised(uck) As we drove the hub got hot and I could feel the heat through my sandels and I really had no place to put my feet ...

Re: Dual pricing at Thai attractions
Just watched a TV programme about Rwanda where they charge 30 euros to visit à National park with monkeys. If you want to see gorillas, it will be 550 for one hour... I agree with Frank La Rue for this : "Having said as much I have met many decent Thais when it comes to money, not trying to ex...

Re: Dual pricing at Thai attractions
I have noted that if you can read Thai that signage also reflects this and if you point this out they will maybe give the local cost. My ex always used to go get the tickets at Thai cost while I remained hidden in the shadows. Not the easiest thing for a bloke of my size and stature. And yes it alwa...
